I am hoping this is a troll thread.
Here is the definition of a cult hit
"Something (almost always a film, book, song, etc.) which is very popular among a specific, narrow audience".
I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but almost all of the songs mentioned here were universal blockbuster in their time and continue to do so. Mamaiya Kero Mama from Arjun is not even 90's song, it is from a 1985 film although that song is not so popular amongst the current generation it is still popular amongst older generations.
Aakey teri Bahon mein from Vansh did not get the recognition when it was released as it should have, even though the film did quite well.It retained it's popularity amongst few in coming years. Thanks to youtube it is being rediscovered.
Another song from Vansh that was good too but met the same fate as Aakey Teri Bahin mein

Thanks to this thread I got to hear/watch the song for the first time and fallen in love with it. Unfortunately the movie isn’t available anywhere on the internet. Red chilies bought it and wiped it off from the internet. :(
Altaf Raja's Tum to Thehre Pardesi was the anthem of Auto-Rikshawala's, there hardly a single Rikshaw that did no have this song on one of it's casette, some of them might still have it.

Well, that's just sad. It is a wonderful movie. I think it probably laid the foundation for the middle class angry young man character in the hindi films . Arjun was followed by movies like Ankush, Pratighat(angry young woman- Sujata Mehta) and Tezaab where the protagonist was again the middle class angry young man, these films belong to the same genre but were really good.
