After the verse Kavya said in today's episode and Yug's "funniness" to make things comfortable for Anjali I really felt that Kavyanjali, atleast the characters are really close to the characters in Kabhi Kabhi- Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee and Shashi Kapoor's old Yash Chopra movie.

I don't know how many will agree with me but in the movie Amitabh is an intense lover who can never stop thinking " What if-" Shashi Kapoor is a loving and happy husband who finds out later about the two. Shashi Kapoor gets angry in that moment but then get's over it pretty fast. He thinks out loud saying he cannot be petty and ignore the fact that Rakhee has given him her entire life and his son, so what if she loved someone else once? Who Rakhee loves is I guess a matter of interpretation, I felt she really loved Shashi kapoor towards the end.

Pretty close to how Kavya and Yug's characters are being shaped I think.

omg..rindam thank God u posted this topic! i thought maybe i was imagining the whole khabi khabi link! 😳 😆 esp after today's epi the words used by kavya def had a khabi kahbi motif.. im now convinced of it.. and yep the character sketches seem to be shaping up to be very similar too.. and your right about the whole perception aspect of love aswell.. 😊

Hehe..dont wanna sound clichd but I thought of that song as well when Kavya said kabhi kabhi, course never got to see the entire movie completely so dont know what the story was like. Thanks Rindam for the mini review of the older movie version. Dunno why but my heart doesnt want it to end with Yug thinking to himself 20 yrs later, so what if Anjali loved Kavya once, shes given me her whole life and a son. Mostly dont want that to happen coz theres a slight difference as KA were married and are having a kid together therefore that does indeed complicate things! Hope everyones happy in the end! I dont want any character going off on a sad note..

Well, I dont know if Yug will end up 20 or more years later with a Anjali and their son 😊 . It is more the characters, the way they have been portrayed is where I see the similarity. I felt,

Yug's character(whether the story proceeds similar to Kabhi Kabhi, I dont know, maybe not)is very similar to Shashi Kapoor in Kabhi Kabhi. His was a character, very forgiving of other's mistakes, and relatively easy going.
Kind of a happy person, doesnt dwell too much on any single thought, not much of a philosopher or thinker. One little scene that I remember, if I may 😊 ,
A 40 something Rakhee is angry and asks Shashi Kapoor to praise her. It's been awhile so would he bring on the poetry, romance. Say something nice, maybe about her eyes?
Shashi Kapoor is cornered, He hugs her and with a twinkle says,

"Aapki aankhen, aapki aankhen-aisi hain,
jaise kisee gareeb ke ghar me lantern hota hai"

Almost at the opposite end of the spectrum is Amitabh Bachchan. I feel his character, tracks well with what Kavya has been portrayed as in the more recent episodes. Utterly incapable of loving anyone else, unable to let go. The character was quite intense and serious. He loved her once and he loved her a LOT.

true rindam. i also felt tht the characters r having a touch of the movie 'kabhi kabhi'. the verse by kavya said it all. i loved the verse but jus hope the similarity ends there. we dont want a leap in this serial like other k-serials of kekta.

but i jus hope tht yug remains lyk shashi kapoor - forgiving of others 😳

Kavya would say to Anjali ,

"Tere ishq ki intahaa chahataa huun
meri saadagii dekh kya chahataa huun

sitam ho ki vaada e behijaabi
koii baat sabr aazamaa chaahata huun

ye jannat mubaarak rahe zaahidon ko
ki main aapka saamana chaahata huun

koii dam kaa mehamaan huum ai ahal e mehefil
chiraag e sahar huun, bujhaa chaahataa huun

bharii bazm men raaz kii baat kah dii
badaa be adab huun, sazaa chahata hun"

-iqbal's verse

Yug said to Anjali,

"You're looking so sexy tonight. Pataakha lag rahi ho. Are you free tonight"

I think I've just lost it 😆 😆 😆

😆

i think perhaps you are actually getting it, rather than losing it.

we look like we've all been force-fed and brought up on a principle of true-love, and that first love is true love forever. perhaps what is being told to us right now is that even before obsessing on love, the principle ought to be that life is fun, and perhaps that is what we should be happy with.

or is it now me who is losing it? 😆 -esther
