Imitating here and there as a special piece is different from entirely basing one’s acting career on becoming a clown of another. Raj Kapoor is the weakest actorof the trinity. In fact he got benefitted by getting his name tagged along with the other two.

The male star needs to have macho appeal with dash of romance. More than looks it's screen presence.

Raj Kapoor literally mimicked Charlie Chaplin. I consider him a cheap duplicate.

Legend my foot.

Anyway sorry, my bad that I could not guess his name.

I do agree he inspired many actors world over.

He was also a filmmaker unlike the other two

NOT a big fan of him but

He was good in what he did. The other two cannot do his roles, can they

And I've seen old movies where he doesn't do CC

The current gen might not find his act appealing, but it must've been a novelty for Indian audience at that time, they were hits and very popular

Of course he's not DK when it comes to acting

But I heard long time ago that DK and RK who were friends in RL did a movie together but RK's performance was more appreciated, so DK decided no to do films together

His filmmaking was the Act ll of his career, isn’t it?

BTW, My dad is a huge fan of his and made us watch all his movies as an actor.😱 Thankfully he doesn’t think much of him as a director so I guess we were spared from watching those soft po** movies in the name of art. I think DA> DK> >>>>>>>. RK

That movie I think is Andaaz. No way RK was better than DK in that movie. 😕 though all I remember about that movie is how painfully it dragged.

Bold - No, he started producing directing in 1947, Aag was his first

Hits like Awara, Barsaat etc were produced and directed by him

Then he became an editor too (starting Sangam)

Blue - That part might not be accurate, maybe the writer got it wrong, not sure

I think action and comedy are the best answers to this

I wish it was a question on actresses..

Answer would have been easier.

Add Arnold to the list of international stars popular due to their action movies

And SRK has done movies like Darr, his latest Pathan is an action film, right?

In DK's case he was crying but his movies were still love stories...

And times were different back then, Indians (just like in all other walks of life) didn't have much choice then

Maybe it's a mixture of Action and Romance or Maybe it's not just the genre, it's a mixture of talent, charisma, luck and the types of roles they get, more importantly the mood of the audience at that period

Darr is not action. It comes under drama or at the most thriller genre. I don’t even know if Shahrukh ever did a true action movie in his growing years. Action is what the likes of Tom cruise do. Or Sunny Deol used to do.

None of the current movies done with the help of heavy CGI can be called true blue action movies imho. The so called action movies now need choreographers and CGI technicians not the good old stunt masters. I mean where is the thrill when you already know that the dude can literally do anything thanks to the green screens.

What are some films

Where you were rooting for the pairing of the lead actor/actress with the second lead/side character instead of with the main one?
