You have mirrored my thoughts exactly!!!

Fictional shows are meant to be over the top ....have 100x more level of drama so ppl will watch. It absolutely can't be equated to reality even the basics as in ppl on shows have such high paying high position jobs but they are barely seen working lol one day ppl are traveling on buses and bikes next day they have brand new cars ...the women are dressed up in big gaudy jewelry just to sit at home and sip cha?!

Where does that happen in real life ?!

You can't apply real world logic to ITV world stories who would want to watch that? Ppl watch ITV as an escape from the real world to see these over the top reactions and actions to situations that we don't normally see in real life.

But for those of us who can handle it, fiction can be a powerful tool for learning, growth, and inspiration. I'm glad to hear that you ladies are able to choose for yourself what kind of fiction you're exposed to.

I just skip certain scenes which I know will affect me. Sometimes watch it later after story has moved ahead & get different perspective. And it does not bother me

TV is not about real-world logic. It's about escapism. It's about seeing things that we can't or don't experience in our own lives. It's about being entertained and having a good time. ITV shows are often over-the-top and unrealistic, but that's part of what makes them so much fun. We can watch them and laugh at the ridiculous situations the characters find themselves in. We can root for the underdog and cheer when they finally triumph.

Another wish, itv really needs to stop showing sexual/domestic abuse by male leads as some mistake and treat it as a crime. I remember even the decently progressive shows like Yeh hai mohabbatein had male leads attempting to force themselves on their love interest.

Currently Tmd, Katha Ankahee, all have redeemed rapists as male leads and I just don't see how they get redeemed , these are crimes and no female character would get whitewashed if they attempted this, they would be treated as vamp. Itv is regressive but with the levels of domestic violence in our country, they really need to stop showing so called good characters attempting rape and abuse.

Aptly put. TV shows specifically ITV shows should never ever be equated to real life. TV shows are meant to create drama with unreal drama quotient. Hypothetical situations in the name of creative liberty are served in the name of entertainment. Truth is stranger than fiction they say....it's entirely different too. It's business for the makers but can have adverse effects on the minds of younger lot. They can't be banned for obvious reasons, but young minds should be thoughtful to pick up between right and wrong. Fictional shows should be taken as entertainment only. Nothing more than that....if it's more, better to leave it.

Better content needs to watched n hyped....the only way to healthy TV watching!!

In my opinion, you should not equate fictional TV shows with real life. Fictional TV shows are works of fiction, and they are not meant to be realistic portrayals of real life. They often feature unrealistic plot lines, characters, and situations. For example, many TV shows feature characters who are incredibly good-looking, wealthy, and successful. These characters may have jobs that are unattainable for most people, and they may solve problems in ways that are unrealistic.

While fictional TV shows can be entertaining, it is important to remember that they are not real. If we start to equate fictional TV shows with real life, we may start to develop unrealistic expectations about our own life. We may also start to feel inadequate or unhappy because our life does not match up to the unrealistic portrayals of life on TV.

It is important to remember that TV shows are meant to entertain us, not to teach us about real life. If you can enjoy TV shows without equating them with reality, you will be able to enjoy them more and avoid any negative consequences.

What is your view?

I totally agree! When I watch tv or movies, 9/10 times it's because I want to escape the realities of my own life, so why would I want something that's relatable?

What is your view?

There's a reason why these shows are called fictional.

The way leads can fight all the odds and not have to visit a doc for severe mental trauma is commendable but 'Live life normal' is definitely my motto.

The fictional shows even today are too conservative jismein bas ek unorthodox character galti se mil sakta hai. I really don't think anyone can compare their real lives to these reel ones.

I agree with you completely. Fictional TV shows should never be equated to real life. They are meant to be entertaining, not educational. The creators of these shows have a lot of creative liberty, and they often use it to create unrealistic and exaggerated situations. This can be harmful to young minds, who may not be able to distinguish between what is real and what is not.

It is important for young people to be taught how to critically evaluate the content they consume. They should be able to identify the difference between fact and fiction, and they should be able to think critically about the messages that are being conveyed. I think it is also important to promote better content. There are many TV shows that are well-written, well-acted, and that offer positive messages. These shows should be watched and hyped, so that they can reach a wider audience.
