Meerab and Murtasim are in white as protagonists of the story. Ma Begum in black she is the antagonist.
Meerab has a soft sad smile on her face, she has accepted her fate to be bound to Murtasim forever. He looks serious, threatening and in charge as head of the family.

Meerub is sitting like a queen, her body language is upright and regal. Murtasim is slightly slouched towards her, it is not a pose of a king but more of a husband her loyal protector. She is in a more elaborate dress to show her status as queen, but Murtasim is dressed more modestly as her guard prince.

Meerab is represented by the white chaddar, she is his izzat, respect, pride and joy. The chaddar not only showcases his dignity, but as he proudly drapes it on his shoulders he elevates her above him.

Murtasim is holding Meerab's shoulder in a claw like grasp, he has a firm grip on her and his other hand is grasping her arm she cannot escape his world. Visually It is does not look like a gentle touch of love, he has secured her under his power. His angry stare down and hold on her screams she is mine only and I dare anyone to take her away from me or harm her while I draw breath.

The hand that fires a gun is calloused, there is a band aid on his finger. He is grasping her with the calloused hand that fires the weapon, violence will be part of their relationship and he will need it to keep her safe and tied to him forever for better or for worst. Murtasim is leaning more towards his wife than his mother as he is Meerub's shield, she is his priority and his world.

The ultimate power between the trio is queen Meerub, she comes in as prisoner and walks away with everything.

Disclaimer- I know the band aid is real life knife injury to Wahaj's fingers, art is open to many interpretations once it is in the public domain, and even an accident can create magic.

KITCHEN SCENE TRANSLATION

(Everything in brackets are their thoughts)

White caped Batman sweeps in

(Murtasim- I am going to sneak up on my princess and say Booooohhh, she will get so frightened and hug me like last time)

Murtasim- Wats up darling

Meerab- Duuuuude you scared me (thank god my man is here I am spooked by these jhin booth noises)

Murtasim- Babes never go alone always call me to accompany you. I am your hero, look I even have a cape to prove it. (Damn what happened to that hug, should have turned off the lights first)

Meerab- I am making tea what a tiresome task at this late hour (Because I care for this duffod but I will pretend like I don't)

Murtasim- Awwwwww my sweet heart you love me

Meerab- Dude seriously love no way, but I do want to smack you over the head with this pan.

(Murtasim- Sniffs the ingredients what he hell is all this, it stinks, I ain't having it, but if I my beloved makes it I will drink poison)

Murtasim- My dear are you sure this tea you are making won't kill me.

Meerab- Fine have 4 ft behaya make it for you, who got less self respect that worn out jhoothis, atleast they know when to quit. (I swear to god if he says yes I will shove a spoon so far up his ass)

Murtasim- I will drink anything from anyone just to make you confess my precious. (My favourite pass times are to make my grumpy Queen more mad, flirting with her, and last one is still working progress, summit to reach soon stay tuned for the next episode)

Meerab- If you feel that way you can get lost now (Who wrote his script for these one liners, there is more cheese on them than the cheesiest pizza)

(Murtasim- I ain't leaving till I drop one more flirty line)

Meerab- How sweet do you want your tea? (I don't want him to go so I am going to ask him a question to make him stay)

Murtasim- My love I want a kiss for the sweetness OK blink blink

(See you in the bedroom honey with tea and kisses night is still young)

White caped Batman sweeps out

(Meerab- This goddamn smooth talker will be the death of me. I should have put in the contract flirting is not allowed. How the hell did he get this good, did he practice on someone, if I ever find out there was anyone else in his life I will shove a spoon so far up his ass)

DARGAH ANALYSIS

This Dargah scene is TB legacy, no other scene in TB (past, present, future) will defeat this scene, it sets up Meerab and Murtasim love story. What he means to her, what she means to him, and why their love must pass adversity to succeed.

There is much nuance and detail in this scene, you can always go back and find something new that touches your heart. This scene is all about timing of expressions, beautifully directed, wonderfully acted by Yumna and Wahaj.

Murtasim doesn't have a single dialogue in this scene. His body language, his eyes and face betray how deeply he has fallen in love with her, but he doesn't understand yet the depth of these feelings and this will be part of his journey in TB.

Murtasim looks at Meerab praying, he is staring at her intently trying to process something. She looks up at him as he stares into her eyes eureka realization dawns on him he loves Meerab, he quickly looks away but he takes another peek at her. His initial reaction is surprise and confusion, which turns into acceptance as he slowly turns his head away.

Meerab is crying as she beseeches god to not abandon her and to give her courage. Her lament might not have reached god, but it is heard by Murtasim. As she prays he achingly sighs as he looks up at the sky, the pain she feels he feels it too, he pledges to fulfill her prayers marriage or no marriage he got her back. His vow completes her worship, she sighs with relief as she unburdens herself. He turns to look at her one last time their eyes meet again, the determination she sought for she finds in his presence. He looks resolved to do what is in her best interest, she doesn't look away from him until he walks away from her.

The sukoon Murtasim talks about later that he sees in Meerab is beautifully highlighted in this scene. They are both hurting yet maintain composure, their souls are reflection of each other. She doesn't know who she is anymore, but he does and this gives her strength to take her next decision.

The pain of loss for Meerab is contrasted against the tragedy of him falling in love with her. Realizing you are in love is a wonderful feeling but he finds no joy in this because it is her suffering that triggers his epiphany. This is tragic for both of them that his bliss is coming at her expense. She had to lose it all for him to gain everything.

Meerab will fight her destiny and fate will push back against her, hence her punishment, but she will not suffer alone he will suffer along with her. They share the same kismet, he cannot escape the punishment of her rejection anymore than she can enjoy the happiness of his acceptance. This torment will continue until they are on the same page.

MEERAB MURTASIM WEDDING (FINAL EDIT PENDING)

Meerab is waiting for him as Murtasim storms in. She walked out of him at the wedding but he is not angry, his tone is all like so what's the problem dear.

Murtasim's conversation with Meerab forget the world, this is about us, who did you get ready for. Meerab sombrely says I only ever get ready for myself.

When Murtasim says fine first right is yours, he says it softy with affection.

A thoughtful dialogue, women lose control over their life when they get married and are expected to hand themselves over to their husbands, but Murtasim is showing how her rights over herself comes before his rights over her.

As he lifts her ghoonghat and guides her to the mirror, looking in the mirror he asks her why don't you see yourself. She replies she can't see past him, which reflects that from now on she recognizes him first before herself or anyone. She will prove this true as Meerab the wife will always return to Murtasim even if he walks out on her.

Murtasim has said in this marriage you come first before me, and Meerab has said I only see you. They have both placed each other above themselves, and this was their wedding vow.

When he signs the contract and they both say Qubool Hai, their wedding is done, what happens outside is just a formality.

Meerab's single tear when Murtasim says you will regret this, she looks at him sadly at first, then she looks away determined, she doubtfully looks down confused if she will regret this and when she looks up at him in his eyes she is determined again.

Meerab and Murtasim are all about symbols and metaphors, you have to read between the lines, decode their feelings behind their actions.

Meerab sleeps on the bed that is always changing, bed is Murtasim.

Murtasim sleeps on the Sofa it never changes, sofa is Meerab.

They are metaphorically sleeping with each other without sleeping in the same space.

Hands is their autobiography. Mirror is their signature

HANDS HANDS CHEMISTRY

Their hands tell its own story, physically she is the beauty to his beast, symbolically she is the beast he has to tame in his beautiful love.

Her hand is just right the right size, it is soft, plump, gentle.

His hand is large, powerful, protective.

He assures her with his strength, while she comforts him with her cool touch.

He holds her gently, but it is not careless, it is warm, secure and it makes her feel safe.

Her paleness of skin says she is untouched by the world, she hasn't really lived not like he has.

His darker skin tone veiny hands shows he has faced harsher weathers, he built those hardy hands with blood, sweat and tears.

Despite the projection of might he is vulnerable he seeks her comfort, she is his rock.

He lost the camera he held with interest, he was then forced to hold a gun, now he holds his love Meerab but to keep holding on to her he stands to lose it all.

She had books and dreams in her hands, she reluctantly held his hand but when she takes his hand with love she will lose nothing.

When Murtasim drags Meerab away as he so often loves to do

It is aggressive yet controlled, never abusive

It feels passionate and betrays fear of losing her or wanting to save her from herself

It screams domination with a seal of approval from her

Would he ever have realized he loved her if she didn't lose it all? If she had it all would she willingly hold his hand? Could they not have come together under happier circumstances? Why did their love story have to start on such a devastating note? When will this misfortune turn into a blessing for both or them?

It is Meerab who is fighting her destiny, hence her punishment, but she will not suffer he too will suffer along with her. Love this! My most favourite scene is the one you’re describing. I can watch it over and over again. You describe their emotions brilliantly. ❤️👏

Dear Gunn (I hope it is fine, if I call you this way)

This is beautiful, as always. Ironically, this is the scene that sold TB to me. This scene was the third or fourth clip of TB I watched and I knew I had to know their story.

I was trying to remember my most favourite scenes of TB and voila! you have given this beautiful insight to one of my absolute favourites.

I always wanted to analyse what is going on in Mutrasim's heart when their eyes met at that moment, as this is the acute moment where he fell deeply for her. So here is my attempt to take on his heart.

Eyes meet mine and the world fades away

A crushed heart with lost magic beneath it lay

The cacophony of your soul making the hope sway

Resonates deep across my world

Without a single word you say.

You have my heart I never knew

All my hopes begin and end with you

Like the rising sun that spreads a rosy hue

My heart says either all of you will be mine

Or piece by piece I will lose myself in you.

Here in my heart forever you will be

Nothing but you, I will always want to see

Deep in my veins your love will run free

Oh, my beloved I hope one day

You would listen to my heart’s plea.

You are the storm that I will chase till the end

The dream I would cherish despite all the pain

I look through your eyes and know for sure

There is a fire setting your heart ablaze

That only I could contain.

The world might be broken, but I’ll make you whole

Hold on to me tighter, I will sail us to the shore

Love me one day forever and more

A glimmer of hope that drive me through

‘Cos I know that I can never let you go.

This Dargah scene is TB legacy, it is everything his love fo her, her finding her strength in his presence, both in pain yet staying strong because they got each other.

Every love story needs that ahaaaaaaaaaa moment and for TB this was it. I don't think any scene in the future will beat this scene.

Wahaj and Yumna bought their A level acting game here to this scene.

This poem is so beautiful, you bought tears to my eyes, I am speechless

TB IS FANTASY ROMANCE

TB is fantasy romance, I stress the word fantasy. Fantasy has it own rules, in this world for the one you love you can go to any lengths, break any laws, become self absorbed, become a monster, everything is justified in the name of love and no one represents this idea more than the character Haya herself. NM wrote a show where all is fair in love and war and there are no rules. Writers represents themselves in the story they are creating via a character, in TB Nooran is Haya. The writer will not take herself out of her own story till the very end.

We live in the real world where we are bound by rights and wrongs, so we want to bind her character to real world values but TB operates outside the bounds of reality. In the realm of TB Haya is operating within the rules of the show. NM's audacity to use fake MR as mystery box element shows how much detached from reality she tried to make TB. Only the audience realized too late that in this show nothing is off limits. TB is not bound by the morality code of real life.

Characters actions are not meant to be over analyzed, only what they feel is what really matters. In reality our emotions and our actions are connected that is how we judge people, when watching TB you have to detach the two things if we want to understand the characters in this show. If you are questioning why Meerab walked away from Murtasim after consensual sex you are asking the wrong question, what she did doesn't matter what she feels is what matters. If you understand her feelings you will find your answers.

This is new for Pakistani dramas which are generally grounded in reality. We have to ignore continuity in timelines and scenes, do we have continuity in emotions that is the key to decoding TB. When you watch a show like game of thrones or lord or the rings you brain automatically registers it as fantasy, you detach from real world values and watch the show based on its in world established guidelines. The same principle applies for TB.

Love is the most illogical emotion, even in real life that is true and in the realm of fantasy it demands imagination and belief not questions on real life ethics. Murtasim loves Meerab he will get her back at any cost that is the only emotion feeling that matters. What actions or mistakes he will commit to achieve this goal is yet to be seen, but whatever he does will ultimately become irrelevant as long as he loves Meerab the end will justify the means.
