Hands down Gabbar from sholey and mogambo from mr india are the most iconic villians of Indian cinema...

Some Others who are not mentioned...

Shakaal from shaan

Kaancha cheena from agneepath..

Scariest of all lajja shankar pandey from sangharsh. Ashutosh rana literally scared the hell outta everyone.

I dont remember being scared of any other villian but damnn he was terrific..

More than that, Ashutosh Rana was scariest as hell in the movie Dushman 😵

I see, there are some recommendations for me...

Agneepath I know already, but I haven't seen yet Ashutosh Rhana as a scarrying villain (Sangharsh & Dushman)...and Shaan (although latter I read about...I remember).

What about other female villains/antagonists ...I remember Kajol in Gupt (with Bobby and Manisha)...

Madhuri in Pukaar overpowered everyone else.

Completely agree with PC in Aitraaz and Ashutosh Rana. Ashutosh Rana freaked me out so much.

Also, PC in Saat Khoon Maaf.

Amitabh in Aankhen

Pran in a lot of his older films as either the jailor or maghroor rich man

While I do love Shakaal in Shaan and Gabbar in Sholay and there's no doubt that they are iconic, I don't think they overshadowed the leads at all. Also the sharks, that office of his and his bald head had a great role to play in making Shakaal iconic.

Sholay will always be Jay and Veeru's story. Same for Shaan.

I felt the same about Sholay...strong (iconic) villain but NO overshadowing ❤️

Yup, PC in 7 KM, a genuine ('black widow') spider ... she really can play well bad-ass characters 😉 (but no overshadowing as she was the only lead character)

Oh, I remember how much I liked Madhuri in her revenge phase in Anjaam...absolutely great! (I put Pukaar on my list now!).

I know that Aankhen and Amitji's & Akshay's performances had been lauded, but somehow, I wasn't drawn to the movie...should I give it a try? I guess, both are equally well portrayed? (well, there is also Arjun Rampal and Sushmita...and Panchuli and Rawal...I think, I'll watch it...I had watched Namastey London from the same director in a Mumbai theatre...great experience!...and Waqt, I enjoyed, too)

I don't know how well Aankhen has aged since its close to 2 decades old [I think] but I remember how much I liked it growing up.

I don't think any of them gave oscar-worthy performances but it is definitely a good watch. I liked the concept a lot and I think they were well-casted. Give it a try!

Pukaar is melodramatic in bits, and I don't remember the film in detail but I do remember Madhuri's obsessive love for Anil Kapoor. If I remember it even after so many years, it's got to have had some impact.

This actress had a few mins role in Devdas but she overshadowed everyone with her gaze and 'choti maaa' 😆

Social Buzz - Ananya Khare Latest News, Images, Updates & Posts - Morey Piya, Devdas, 2011 | Charmboard

She's the only reason I'd recommend SLB's Devdas, apart from the grandeur.

Otherwise Dilip Kumar's Devdas was the best.

Absolutely agree...she made a great impact on me! Ananya Khare as the SIL was evil personified...and indeed overshadowed every supporting actor/actress (except Jackie).

I know that she was in Chandni Bar...I had seen her in the Tabu-movie, but she is more a TV actress (and I don't watch TV-series/shows).

no amount of puke worthy over acting and gutter level hamming can make one shine, does not matter be it in a protognist or antagonist' role 🤣🤣

it shows how low the bar of acting here in this region for cinema.
