I feel the actor should also put it down saying that he would not do such a scene that too being a hero. Its irredeemable!

As I said it’s a normal happening in ITV and happens in almost every show . So long as people accept it and numbers come it will happen irrespective of what some people think. Here too the numbers were good this week . Actors can’t dictate and should not too after all it’s their livelihood. If at all a stand has to be taken it has to be the channel or the pH against such scenes but why would they when they get the numbers and people are accepting such scenes in every show and even liking it . Such scenes give the shock and emotional value and the TRP audience probably does not look at the scene the way you do and looks at it differently and may have sympathised with the character which is why numbers were good too that week. Only a law can probably stop such scenes till then they will be a part and parcel of every show and the TRP audience don’t seem to have problem with it

Cant believe this! This being a norm in TV is because of women accepting defeat. I recently read an article abt Jayabhaduri refusing to do a rape scene and in fact she fought vehemently to reverse it to show that she hit the offender really hard and taught him a lessons instead! That shud be the spirit of an actor. Be it male or female! Not glorify a rape - even inside a marriage! And not accept it as a norm as well!

any stand has to be taken by channel or PH or there should be a law until then no point in blaming actors personally for this. Jaya Bachchan is different ball game altogether. Let’s hope some other big television actor will take a stand and bring in the revolution…
