I think three things influenced MKs this decision,

1) He wants Meerab to decide whether or not she wants him and the relationship. Freedom to decide what she wants..which is why he said azaadi

2) Murtasim would prioritize his wife over everybody, even himself. But MK had to prioritize his family in the name of his responsibility, baap ki gaddi logic. I will also that he still prioritizes her, that why he thought it's better to take her away from MB. She would have to face their taunts and he knows that she cant handle it.

This was shown after the pregnancy kaand, where she says she needs to go to Karachi so that she can get away from the taunts. She asked him there.

This time he takes her so that he can protect her as he knows that these taunts actually affect her..
