She was just acting sweet so that Sai can come to please her son who was not happy.. Pakhi anyway was of no use to her when she became infertile and even Vinu turned Sai's. The woman was always capable of manipulating a young child, playing with her mind she never was sweet.. she just laid back because aggressiveness would not work in what she wanted.

I think that's coz of actor..the actor has very warm vibes.. she has got that motherly thing in her..I always loved her more than Ashwini.. even her scenes with Sai where she was sober was so good, despite Ashwini being extremely motherly towards her.
