Well...Vivek is part of Hindi Cinema, isn't he? And if someone wants to write about his wife, why not?

There are members here who write about things not even related to the filmindustry...so what is the problem?

Personally, I may not "bother about" Vivek, but I followed his career because he was a very promising actor and his father is a rather intereting person.

I found his relationship with Aish a very unbalanced one...

And I bet that it is the same with Abhishek now...

The difference? Aish wasn't married to Vivek....

That is a harsh thing to say. It maybe partly factual, but I don't think that anybody deserves to be treated the way in which Vivek has been treated for all these years. It was 1 costly mistake, which he has apologized for countless no of times.

He made a bigger fool of himself whilst apologizing infront of a hardened Salman Khan & to everyone he could, than when he actually called for the press conference. I am not saying that the latter can be deemed as a wise approach to handling a bully like Salman; but the guy was young, immature and heavily influenced by Ash.

Irrespective and either way, I hope that perspective of him changes.

No actor or human deserves to be treated that way or be held at the butt end of people's jokes forever.

Influenced by Ash as in she made him do the press conference? That’s his side of the story, or his PR’s side perhaps.

MEB touched on this a in her post as well. Ash was always very private about her dating life. Vivek got caught up in the hype of being with Aishwarya Rai and couldn’t keep his mouth shut. I remember when he gave an interview saying he’d marry Aishwarya one day, and all the hoopla and headlines it caused. A little bit later he said that what he meant was that one day he’d like to marry someone like Aishwarya. Whether he actually fell in love with her or if it was just infatuation and the idea of being with Aishwarya, I don’t know. But if he couldn’t even respect her need for privacy, come on!! I doubt anyone besides Vivek himself was surprised the relationship ended.

His apology to Salman came after it became obvious that Ash and Abhishek were dating. There was an element of “No more Ash so let me move to Salman’s camp” to the whole ordeal. His history with his ex fiancée to Rani to Ash doesn’t paint him in the best of lights either.

As for his career, I don’t think we can blame all of it on the press conference. Had his movies continued to succeed no one would have given two hoots about a press conference. But just like a lot of others in Bollywood he faced a low phase and just couldn’t recover. Some of it might have been his own miscalculations. He was really good in negative or shades of gray kind of roles but after Saathiya he wanted more of a romantic hero type of roles and well, it didn’t work. I thought he kind of sucked in Kisna so definitely not his forte.

All that being said, he seems to be in a very good place personally and that’s very enviable specially in the world of rich and famous. He’s also been said to be a philanthropist with a big heart so more power to him.

I agree, however, that education is something that can have a positive influence on views and behaviour... and I also agree that many film people discussed here seem to lack it (and not only the youngsters)...

Still, educational degrees don't mean nothing if one doesn't have respect for people. Vivek and his wife have it (although Vivek may have lost it for some time after having been ditched/exchanged for a more influential man).

lol please yourself, I never said education is the sole criteria. It is however a helpful criteria imo and seems to distinguish some actors from others. Take SRK for example. His education shows- he is more comfortable expressing himself and that too in classy ways which a host of other uneducated actors are not. His shortcomings are of course his cockiness which leads to him putting his foot in his mouth at times, but he is still better off for having had an education. Without that, his cockiness would have been total chichorapan.🤣

also, as regards generalization, which century are you living in?😒 The modern world is all about generalization- taking data and generalizing to build models that can be applied to new situations. AI, ML, data science- hopefully you have heard of them? That's how they work😉

Shes acting like a shy simple middle class girl who married a star by fluke

The fact that shes so highly educated in a top university of world yet so simple coming from such rich powerful back ground shows her good upbringing actually - one thing i like about south indians is they are all highly educated but so simple. I was shocked that Prabhas is BE engineer, many south actors are engineers, MBA etc yet they act and talk so simple no hi fi airs like bollywood actors

kudos to her parents - bollywood compared to priyanka alva is a show off place where 7th pass and 10th pass act like PHD from harvard or oxfords and like they are some royals

Nice to read about a bollywood wife who is really well qualified yet acting so simple no show off of her position or wealth or even power that she must be wielding or having being ex ministers daughter

@Bold - She's totally been acting like she privileged to be married to him, when in reality this woman is powerful in the social circles in the South and has some influence in the North too, as she was born in Delhi and her Mom is a North Indian. Highly refreshing to see someone so unassuming and she carries herself in classy manner, if and when she appears before the camera.

He's been married since 2010 to her and they've two kids, I believe. A Son (Vivaan) and a daughter (Ameyaa).
