No - I wasn’t referring to their behavior with her at all here. I was referring to their actions surrounding the whole Maryam fiasco which are really ridiculous. One minute insisting she must marry Naurez after talking to him, but not bothering to talk to Maryam. Then finally capitulating but not bothering to get more info about this dude first. He’s Murtasim Khan after all, he can get info if he wants. No way he would let them inside his house without having done some background info beforehand. The moment he heard about him, that Anas dude would have been sought out.

So yes, from my perspective she was a nice comical commentary on this family through her little appearance.

What Anwar did was bad , in fact horrible but maybe he was so heart broken and family may have felt his wounds will heal faster if there is no reminder of his wife and they gave the baby a good home , to their best friend who were childless and who they knew will adore her which they did . I am not saying what they did was right but maybe under those circumstances that was the best thing to do . It’s not that khandani families don’t make mistakes or commit blunders , they do and this was the case in giving Meerab up to waqas and Anila but in this case ( Maryam one ) they have not faulted . Murtsaum would do all the investigations about the boy but since Meerab was hell bent upon meeting him at least once so they agreed which was nice of them . Also sometimes meeting a person can shed a lot of light on them…& It’s not that they would have met and shaadi ki baat pakki kar detey… they would have done their investigations . I don’t find any fault there .
In italics Ma begsm’s one daughter being incarnation of Satan , other being dumbest is the way most times things turn out . Parents do their best for the children thinking they have instilled good values in them but that does not happen , it’s usually the other way round . You can’t fault the upbringing . One thing I am happy abt though is that Ma begum was so proud of her upbringing that she used to constantly rant about it so it’s a slap on her face for doing big talks . But at the same time I admire her that despite being so rigid she was ready to give up on her rigidness and almost agreed to this rishta .
it’s not that Meerab is any smart either . Infact I would rate her the dumbest of all. In Maryam’s case we can give a leverage on the account that she has led an extremely sheltered life, was not even allowed to go for friends birthday parties also but in meerabs case toh there was no such thing . She was free to move with anyone , had a make friend as her best friend , there was no restrictions of any kind . Father was a lawyer and they must be discussing his cases sometimes at least …. Then HOW COME she is idiotic and stupid to this level. NO ONE in his or her right mind would like to give their loved ones in a family where the mother has behaved the way Seema did. A person had to be mad to do this . And too just by meeting the guy ONLY once for a few minutes. Meerab of all ppl can not or should not give lectures to ppl.

I am not against Meerab , I love her because without her Meerasim would not be complete but the fact is that she should not be lecturing ppl in doing what’s right and what’s not because so far she has only been doing stupid things one after the other . She has a lot of growing up to do which I am sure will happen .
