Yup and it’s a skill I had to learn

Someone I know who is an excellent judge of character taught me well but I am not as good as them lol

depends. I don't read marketing guys well, and am overly trusting. Ditto for people with sob stories, whether they are faking it or not. And people who have gone to fancy colleges, I trust them on their acumen if they act serious, although quite often they are as wrong as anyone else. So these are the people who can screw me up easily.

On professional matters, I am very good at reading people, which helps in getting ahead. On the personal front, I just go with the flow... I think I am a fairly easy person to talk to in RL, so I can draw out a lot of info without even trying to read anyone. And of course, if I am out in a bar or looking for that kind of thing, I can read the field quite well. Comes instinctively.😆

So, all in all, there are some areas where I read folks well and others where I don't, or don't try to.

No, I tend to take people's word for what it is. There used to be a US show called 'Lie to me' which had little lessons scattered within the main plot on how to read people's facial and non-verbal cues. For a while, my job required conducting a lot of personnel interviews so I would apply some of those tricks, and it was interesting how often they turned out to be accurate. But it never became habit and eventually I quit doing it.

I don't intend to but I can. It's more like walking into a room & you immediately can feel the vibe for me. I don't have to try. I just get them.

Also, my experience have taught me to never ignore what I felt when I 1st met them. People are good at manipulating. One time I ignored & I had to learn the hardest way.

I think I'm pretty good. But I think people find me hard to read in real life : (

Are you a good judge of character?

I fail miserably at this, so am asking😆

It's not always possible to understand various aspects of different characters.

Yes, I agree that many people are good at manipulating.
