Meerab-the most misunderstood one!
Meerab's character timeline-
In the initial episodes, she's been introduced to us as this fearless yet gentle, rebellious woman and someone with a great amount of self-respect.
In episodes(4-8)-Parentage Revelation and Marriage announcement happens which broke her irrevocably but still she clung desperately to her inner dignity and self respect.
Episodes(9-11)- Marriage and Relationship Begins- So when life hands you lemons, it’s not always your responsibility to passively accept them. Sometimes you need to take action and that she did through her contract because it takes more to be happy than simply smiling through pain. She even sought revenge , albeit a brief time. But nowhere did her core personality change!
Episodes(12-23)--This was the period where things seemed to be going better, she felt closer to him but then the entry of Rohail/the farmhouse incident made her feel frustrated, defeated, angry, upset, and maybe even hopeless. This woman is still nursing her emotional wounds and its pathetic to see that her so called family find her acceptable only when she bows down to their expectations.
Until now, I've never seen or sensed her character being dumbed down. Yes, the dialogues/execution of a few scenes(especially the ones with Rohail in Karachi) sucked but her character has always followed a steadfast arc! She's still the fearless, gentle girl she was when the story began;and she hasnt shed any flaws like her stubborness or impulsivity as the story progressed.
How can a woman consummate her marriage when she is not fully in love with her husband? Yes,she does like his company but she isnt there yet. She will eventually get there and that will be the culmination of this story. Does Murtasim accept her for what she is? No, he has his own reservations in love and that will not do! She has been bottling up all his caustic remarks and brushing them aside to avoid confrontation. Someone has to make a move and I want Mu to let go off his ego and talk to her - Yes, it will reopen old wounds but that will be the only way to move forward.
The concept of consent in a marriage is extremely important and I love the fact that the writer chose to weave a story around this. But my biggest gripe with Nooran, the writer is that she tried to shove a Haya and Rohail down us to show conflict between her wonderfully written layered protagonists!
