On a serious note, I hold nobody but herself responsible. However, I did select Anupama & Bapuji.

I can understand that she was married off at a young age, perhaps she looks up to bapuji since he is older (& wiser!?) and in some way (naively) believes that he has good intentions for her. If he really wished her well, he would have stopped any form of mistreatment towards her from baa or V or anyone else.

Besides that, no matter what her background, upbringing, education, strata in the society etc - are, she lacks self-respect and determination to make her life better.

Our education really comes from day-to-day experiences, it does not have to be college degrees. As humans, we are wired to that way, i.e to learn from experience. That is what shapes us into better individuals.

She is no longer young and immature, she is in her 40s to have plenty of experiences. Why doesn’t she learn from her mistakes?

Bold - One learns from their mistakes only when they realise and accept that they were wrong and have the will to learn.

Anupama stubbornly believes that she is always right and when something goes wrong she blames it on the situation and turns on the bechari mode.

Being a victim for so long can sometime become a way of life. It is comfortable. This way they don't have to take responsibility for their actions and also can make other people do things according to their wish.

Now this can be a coping mechanism of a victim or a tactic used by a abuser to control others.
