I have the same problem with cousin marriages in pak dramas. Esp the one where the cousins who live in the same house. They grew up together calling each other Bhai bhehan. I never grew up with any of my cousins and still they are like brothers and sisters to me. Culturally in Kerala cousin marriages used to happen and is legal but still it feels wrong to me.

Even though i like CC more than SC i found the sudden change in relationship in CC more awkward than SC. In SC the leads were already married and we never saw any kind of siblings bond between them and even when they fought there was romantic chemistry but in CC for more than 10 episodes there was no romantic tension between meenu and faiz. Faiz treated meenu just like his sisters and meenu treated faiz the same way she treated Hadi. She literally shared the same equation with Hadi and fazi. It's like she could have been married off to kadu or hadi as well and it felt so wrong considering kadu and Hadi were over protective over meenu just like older brothers.

It was also the same in Ishq jalebi. They both grew up together in the same household and wahaj's mother raised madiha as her own daughter. It's like they had the same mother.

Thankfully in chand tara, leads ka door door se koi rishta nahi hai ek dusre ke saath.

All in all yeah it's weird šŸ˜† but anyhow ptv is hell bent on showing leads who are cousins and getting married.

I find it awkward even without the genetics issue. They are still family. My mom used to say her hand was asked by her aunt for her son and i was likešŸ‘ŽšŸ¼. Thankfully nobody from my mother's side or father's side married their cousins when they were young. In my generation cousins are literally brothers and sisters. We talk and look after each other like siblings. So i find it odd when i see romance between cousins. It's mostly a personal pov.

I am currently watching only kuch ankahi and chand tara and thankfully in both the leads are not related to each other at all.

There is overdose of cousin marriages. 3/5 dramas will have cousin marriages and most of them literally grew up in the same house. Recently i binge watched beetiyaan. There were 5 girls and not a single one of them married their cousins and i was shocked. Yeh kya ajooba hai🤣

I just realised that Tara and her mom both are working women staying alone in a house and there is no unwanted talks of not having a man around the household. I don't remember the last time I saw something like that in a pak drama.

šŸ˜† There are very few pak dramas which go the no cousin route way and I get surprised to see such dramas.

Progressive mindset .

Both of them are successful and working and independent that's why they don't feel the need to have a man around .

They rarely show that in pak dramas nowadays. I can only remember Zgh and udaari having only female family members running the house. Every other drama no matter how rich or educated the females are they always portray it's unsafe to live without a man around.
