I remember Bandini. I think Bandini and kmh launched together on that channel which was new.

I think i have seen almost all of ekta serials at one point or the other but never watched it completely. Used to watch yeh hai mohabbatein when it used to air at 11. The show managed to keep up the standard as long as it had a late time slot. I guess the creative liberty was higher at that time slot. It got ruined when they changed it to 7 or 7:30. I guess yhm is my last ekta drama. Checked out few scenes of yhc and i find the lead's chemistry good but never felt like watching it. Is it still on air or went off?

See ekta can do good when the shows run for limited time why can't they just stick to that format.

I have never seen much of Ekta shows, didn't see Kasauti or Kahani just caught few scenes here and there. I used to be a fan of Mann ki awaaz Pratigya, Krishna was toxic but so loyal.

I never watched YHM or YHC.

Meerab said this when Murtu was about to confess.

Meerab before and after the parentage truth was out are two different people. She has her basic traits intact, but the very ground on which she fought for her ideals was shaken the moment she knew Waqas and Anila were not her parents and the family she despised was her real family.

There are multiple dialogues that she says after she knows of her father that she feels humiliated and snatched off her dignity to hold her own and fight after knowing she was abandoned by her real family.

I remember one that she says to Murtasim 'ab toh har koi aata jaata kuch bhi karega mere saath'. This itself explains that she lost the will to fight for herself. The contract was the only brave step she took after that. Otherwise she didn't fight anything else. The Meerab before would have never agreed to the marriage in the first place.

I agree with you. But I feel that the slap was not handled well. And also if they showed the slap as one of the reasons why Meerab was not able to accept Murtasim it would have made perfect sense. And people would have understood her situation better. If they showed the dilemma of Meerab, that a guy who can slap when he gets angry can repeat the same but at the same time he is very caring towards her, it made sense and it is understandable that she is not able to accept and she is not able to leave. We need a monologue of Meerab. In SH review they told that a guy who can slap once it can never be his last.

Watched this a year ago. This tells you exactly why the stories half way through a great script with great actors and a veteran director starts to make no sense. Or how it makes no sense to begin with. This interview especially at 35 minutes onwards is a must watch. Producers just like hospital administrators have no idea what the real thing is. This is evident in almost every field.

I guess it's mostly the channels that ruin a show than the writer and director. To start with when a drama starts the shooting they should have an exact idea of how many episodes a drama will go. I guess most dramas go into gutter at the editing table. Almost 90% of pak dramas have very bad editing. Some scenes don't have continuity. Then if a show becomes a hit they stretch it unnecessarily by adding unwanted flashback scenes. In some dramas the last episodes will only have 5-10 mins of real content and the rest will be flashbacks . It's pretty evident that there is no proper planning done in making of most pak dramas

Is the editing team of a drama handled by the channel or the production house? I think it's the channel but not sure.

I remember during ek duje ke vaaste it was solely the channel that ruined the show and then ended it abruptly. The lead actor said how they had a lot of bank episodes and they shot half of the scenes for an upcoming track with the leads confessing but the channel wanted to stretch the confession and made them reshoot which resulted in actors doing overtime. Then the female lead got critically ill and was in the hospital for almost a month and then she decided to quit. Then the channel instead of coming with a s2 and give time for the female lead enough time to rest they asked the production house to end the serial in a week. The unnecessary interference of channels for trp is one of the main reason for the degradation of Hindi serials.

That slap is the most absurd thing about this show and talking about it would be like going around in circles without reaching a conclusion, so I refrain.

That being said, I do not completely agree that a man who can slap once is sure to slap you twice, unless that man is known to have aggressive anger issues and is a certified a-hole to all women and men alike around him. Murtasim again, is not any of that. Regret, repentance and change is a thing and we have seen that in his approach towards her post that. This is no way of a defense for the slap because I equally despise it with all my being, it is just a general idea that I have drawn from his character.

That slap was put in the script to grab eyeballs

But director and writer won't accept it
