I understand that when you listen to the dialogues and story, it might feel like the writers always have severe short-term memory loss. But I've finally understood the finer nuances (given in brackets).

For example, last episode:

Maaya: Anuj is so good any woman will fall in love with him - he gives me the one thing that no other guy has given me - respect!

Anuj: Leave from here, you child-snatcher!

(Anuj says respectfully)

Maaya: Ha! Your ego and powerful connections and money will mean nothing, Mr. Anuj Kapadia, I'll get my daughter back! (Maaya says lovingly to the man she loves)

Anupama: Leave, you prostitute! (Anupama says respectfully)

Maaya: You guys are like extended family to me. Can I stay? (Now that Anupama also has given her respect, she loves them both)
