Yes a Aamir did it at 51 with Dangal. But Srk at 57 making the ATG of Hindi movies has to count for something.

It just brings to me to these discussions Arsalan use to have how Will Srk adapt in later stage 😆

Lets be real....Dilip Kumar and AB Sr will always be much bigger than what any of the 3 Khans can ever be....in acting or stardom...

How and why ?

SRK 's success ratio, fanfollowing, longevity is greater than BigB/Dillip Kumar 's

Pathan (Hindi) was released in all states and countries.

Bahubali 2 was a whole other phenomenon as an Indian movie as Pathaan is...and again, I don't see ANY sense in comparing those two movies by continuously citing box office numbers...

Equally I prefer to stress the qualities of Dilip Saab, Amitji and SRK than giving them position numbers...and then, there are other Indian mega-stars, too.

I agree with atominis' posts who states the existing differences...however, personally, I tend to underline the similarities...and some of the similarities are work ethics, inner strength, acting skills and fan following.

Btw...I love Pooja's post:

When I made the post I was referring to hindi version only…

I mentioned world wide when you brought in dubbed languages collection….

BO/hit verdict is given based on ONLY original language/domestic collections… which I was referring to in my original post.

People seriously need to read Wikipedia to find out about AB sr's filmography. 😆

No doubt AB Sr is a legend and I meant no offence to him or Dilip Sahab but the fact that they couldn't comeback as a hero like Shah Rukh Khan did at 57.

And when AB returned after Khuda Gawah in 1997 with Mrityudata which tanked he was 55 years old and his next was Major Saab and we know what was his role in the movie.

Once again I will echo myself....If VFX (Technology of any kind) is available I will take it whichever way it's possible. 😎

BOI is talking bullshit.

Dilip Kumar was above SRK's current age when he gave Blockbusters Kranti, Vidhaata, Karma and Saudagar. Yeah he played an old man, not a typical Bollywood hero. So what? He still gave those Blockbusters. Should Aamir not be given credit for Dangal because he played an old man in that film? BOI thinks there's a certain template for Hindi movies and Bollywood "heroes" and everyone in the industry should follow it.

Dilip Kumar couldn't have played or looked like a young guy because such technology didn't exist back then.

At the moment, BOI is biaised towards SRK...so, I think, their praise can be taken with a wink...

I still don't get it why a comparison is even needed... SRK isn't competing with any of the legends Hindi (Indian) cinema has...so why doing it here???

Dilip Saab and Amitji even aren't the only ones who shaped Hindi-Indian Cinema as actors.

The one European filmindustry that has the most admiration for/connection with Hindi Cinema is France...gosh! it is such a pleasure to read French books about the history of Hindi Cinema (or Indian Cinema, too, although other languages are less present).

Arsalan didn’t think Srk could do this. Not without Sonu 🤣

SRK is already there in league of DK, AB or surpassed them? 🤣

Nope. In your dreams.

And stop comparing on basis of worldwide when Indian films were NOT even released globally as widely as they began to be released from 90s due to globalisation.

Film industry was not even an industry or organised in times of DK.

Raj Kapoor was first to take Indian cinema beyond South Asia and his cinema became popular in USSR.

AB sr was wildly popular abroad too and still is. He is first star to do world tours and stage shows. Otherwise Indian artistes did not perform at likes of Wembley earlier.

People like SRK built success from the base made by previous icons who paved the way for Indian cinema.

Cinema was not even liked as a medium in conservative South Asia. The stars of past made it acceptable to watch films. Otherwise Indians used to consider watching films equivalent to going to watch mujra at kotha and it was considered profession of harlots.

SRK has not surpassed DK, AB Sr yet. We shall see where he is at the ages when they gave hits like Saudagar, Black, Paa, Baghban, Karma or even Rajinikanth gave ATBB like Robot at 61 or so and who turns up to see him or give him ads or shows at 80. I am sure he will be a legend like DK, AB sr one day given his popularity and ability to bounce back, his resilience but it is premature to say he surpassed them or is at par with them. And equally silly to compare actors from an era when there was NO way to look young at all. India did not even gave professional make up artistes or fitness trainers or gyms when AB or DK were working as heroes.

By this logic you can also say Deepika looks younger and fitter than what Hema, Madhuri, Rekha, Sridevi etc looked at that age and she gave a big hit at this age unlike past superstars so she is bigger than them, and easily ignore all resources to look fitter, younger than Deepika has today and her predecessors never had.

Whatever that floats your boat. One hit and people think SRK surpassed DK and AB Sr already. Even SRK himself is not as haughty as some of his fans and over enthu PR or sites like BOI.
