Difference in mentality

Could not help but think of two similar scenarios with different responses and outcomes

Scenario 1: Mawaali Jhuli starts abusing MAA (who she claims is a daughter) and Dimpy (for whom Anupamaa is an unofficial mentor and guardian) for being survivor of rape

MAA to mawaali Jhuli: Baaaa Baaaaa Baaaaa......then silence

MAA to Dimpy: Even if elders are wrong, you should not oppose them and bear their words (your character assasination) silently

Scenario 2: Mawaali Jhuli starts abusing Crinjal (who is her ghar ka chirags wife) and Rakhi (Crinjal's mother) for being working women

Rakhi response to mawaali jhuli: points out her ghatiya soch and toxic behaviour. makes it clear that her daughter won't take their abuse

Rakhi to Crinjal: take a stand for yourself. work is important even for taking care of your daughter and family. You cannot be their servant

Just because Rakhi has a caustic tongue does not mean that she's wrong and Anupamaa who does sweet talk is right. Rakhi has seen the world and is well aware that certain people only understand one kind of language. While MAA under the facade of her chikni chupdi baatein engages in manipulation the same way Dukhmukh does.

The difference is clear and MAA's approach can be dumbed down as:

Show me one decision that Anupama has taken and seen it through! Apart from the decision to marry Anuj, ofcourse.

Marrying Anuj is partly credited to Dukhmukh's prodding and his schemes 😆

But one decision Anupamaa took and succesfully followed up with her actions is getting KinDosh married at any cost and thereby finding and training a future replacement for herself to serve Shahs (Bonus: A graduate that too) 🤡
