I think Sachin is a confused soul. Maybe it's the age. He is in that age where people want to experiment and do a lot of things so somehow the finesse is always missing on his plate. But he has been improving much so I'd rather see him more in the kitchen than Suvarna or Naziya. I don't get why doesn't he experiment Sindhi food so much? All his sindhiness comes during business skills but dude you have such a culturally rich cuisine, why not tap into that more like Deepa ji? I remember he used to make Sindhi dishes earlier right?

I think by now I've realized the last thing one should expect from the contestants this season is innovation! They lack innovation so much, everyone is having herd mentality in the kitchen. Sachin literally got the whole pantry- like Suvarna had picked up everything and all he made were some tacos? It's one thing for Priya to follow her principles but yesterday she did use egg in her challenge so why couldn't she just use the protein today? It's not like she has been a vegetarian, she has only turned vegan three years ago. Forget the protein, she could've used the butter atleast to make a butter sauce that she could drizzle in the risotto. If you are so stringent about your dietary restrictions in a competition, I think it's better you go home and don't take part in competitions that involve both veg and non veg cooking.

I'm still pissed at Nazia for the taunt she made at Sachin today, I'm sure even Ranveer didn't like it. It was because of her that Sachin came in bottom yesterday. She needs to go asap. She is making Suvarna look like a saint in front of her.

I have to give to Suvarna though today despite hating her so much, credit where it's due she did innovate her dish thanks to the push by Garima. Polenta cake is pretty ordinary and common but the way she elevated the dish was mind-blowing. Her plating too was beautiful. I don't why but I liked the burnt leeks as well unlike Garima. I have noticed this of Suvarna and kind of relate her to Annapurna, in a sense that she can churn out dishes very fast. I have a feeling she probably used to do tiffin services or something before because her hands work like a machine because of which she first starts prep and then starts thinking. Even in team challenges, she always takes the responsibility of making huge batches of dough, etc. And there has been improvement in her plating and creative skills too but too bad her toxicity and attitude masks all her good qualities and she herself is responsible for that.

However I have a feeling she is going to last in the kitchen for long!

Part of her angst comes from the fact that she hasn't been appreciated enough in life. Her cooking skills r taken for granted at home..like ghar ki daal. That urge to be financially independent also comes from there. Either her nature creates such circumstances or else those circumstances r responsible for her nature..but interconnected

She was pushing Priya to think it through and push the envelope a bit.

Today was about showing your journey and Suvarna's journey is Maharashtrian flavours. So she was asking Suvarna if her dish had that element.

I feel like she was pushing the theme strongly. She wasn't complaining to the other chefs. She said it very factually. Priya has 2 proteins but she wants to stick to her plant-based journey. Makes sense. That is what defines Priya.

I'm actually pissed at Priya. She gave up on plant-based yesterday to work with Suvarna. She could have done that today and at least used the milk ingredients. Additionally, she was given two hints by Garima. I don't think the chefs wanted Priya out today. They were after Nazia or Sachin. Upar se Priya herself looked like she gave up when she had to leave her own basket.

@Bold: Okay i can agree on this she wanted to push her more. But similar comments were given to neither Naziya nor Sachin. Sachin made up some story about his mum and Naziya's cake, what did that dish even define her journey in the masterchef kitchen as? Garima literally asked Priya second time how is this dish summarising your 6 weeks journey....she asked it twice even, tell me if she wasnt extra harsh only on her for this theme.

@Red: Had she given up on veganism today, it would have played against her because as you said, that is her identity and she has always tried that in her whole MC journey which was the actual theme same as you consider Suvarna's journey as Maharashtrian flavours.

I feel bad for Sachin and Priya this week. Neither of them deserved the black apron challenge. Their team could have been considered winner. If they were partnered, they could have won working together. And instead they ended up in black apron and their partners blamed them for it when it was their partners' fault.

One thing I didn't like is that Priya gave up her plant-based method for Suvarna yesterday, so why didn't she give it up today? She obviously can work well with milk ingredients. Her dish yesterday proved it. I'm not asking her to make meat, but she could have used some of the other ingredients Nazia brought like butter, chocolate, etc. And I think Garima is right. Is risotto and dal enough? It's about the journey. Where is the journey in that? Priya kind of gave up when the twist came and it showed today.

Nazia is dumb. He changed his planning for you 4 or 5 times. He had to think on the fly because you forgot the ingredients. Ranveer did not look impressed with her complaining. I know that the chefs know she was at fault and she should have accepted that. It would have shown a good personality. Upar se when he said mango and strawberry go well together, she gave the Priyanka look "I know everything stop telling me what to do". I agree with Ranveer though! Mango and strawberry are so good together! Upar se she had hazelnut! Oh my god, I don't even cook so much and I have an amazing idea - sweet mango mousse with strawberry jam with toasted hazelnuts.

I do agree with the chefs today. It's about remaining positive and only then will you make your journey show. And...surprisingly...Suvarna was the best at that today. She didn't complain. She accepted her ingredients. She thought about it a bit, but once she found her footing, she remained solid. Sachin and Nazia somewhat picked up, but remained uncertain throughout. And Priya took the path of "let's just make whatever I have". Priya basically did what any regular person does when they come home after a long day and see that they have bread and a whole bunch of fruits in their fridge and they make a salad and toast. She basically did that today.

Listening to the chefs today, I don't think they wanted Priya out today. They were after Nazia or Sachin. Nazia more, less after Sachin. I feel like they wanted Suvarna and Priya safe today. That's why Garima kept giving Priya and Suvarna hints today. They only came to Sachin once to help him with mayo and even then Ranveer just told him to leave it. Nazia ko toh they didn't even help once.

This season I feel like they didn't get any strong contestants. They all play safe. And what's this about undercooking or overcooking food! I get it once in a while especially with things that you don't know how to cook - like that round with the lamb or when Nayan got lamb rack. But how do you burn zucchini or undercook a taco base??? I still understand in the street food round - no one had experience with it and they were in a rush, but how do you manage to do that in regular rounds?!! HOW?!!

My poor Vikku. He cannot stand spiciness well. Bechara. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm highly impressed with Suvarna's dish. Waise bola jaaye toh she can cook well, but if only her personality wasn't so bad.

Lol I loved how Garima just cleared that Nazia made something by accident. Nazia would have 100% taken credit for it, but she shot it down before Nazia could try. I loved it. My favourite moment of the day. Seriously and then she doesn't even listen to Ranveer. He is giving such a good tip today. Not even that something is wrong with her dish - he's giving her finessing tips for later and she doesn't want to listen.

I am still with Garima on Priya's dish today. Her stance since the beginning has been the same. Is dal chawal enough? Is that celebrating vegan food? Is that showing Priya's journey? Priya could have done a lot with her dish. She could have a taco like Sachin. She could have made a burrito. She could have made samosas. She could have taken these generally "savoury" items and made a sweet cake out of them. She had a lot of options but she had given up so she made whatever came to her mind first. I'm not happy to see her go, but I understand. I totally understand.

See I feel like the chefs wanted her and Suvarna to win today. If you see, Garima went to Suvarna twice today and asked about the Maharashtrian flavours as well.

She didn't do that with either Sachin or Nazia. Ranveer went to Sachin at the end and told him to leave the mayo. He didn't even try to help Sachin today. And Ranveer didn't push or give Nazia ideas on how to use mangoes in her dish.

I feel like today chefs wanted Nazia or Sachin to go out. They were getting set to eliminate one of them. That's why they didn't push them. They could have easily used "theme wasn't there" or "she didn't use mango" as a reason.

But in the end they had to eliminate Priya. It showed on their faces. They had a hard time doing it. There were no smiles on their faces when they saved Nazia or Sachin. Ranveer had to force it and you can tell that Vikas's wasn't showing on his face. He gave that fake smile you give to people you don't like. His eyes had no happiness in them.

See, at the end of the day, this is the main problem. judges should be keeping it fair for everyone. I understand they are following a script and production clearly has biases for and against certain contestants. But atleast in kitchen they can keep it fair (okay, I even give judges benefit of doubt because we see everything edited).

You found Chef Garima helping Priya, from one POV yes, but then again my problem is if she wanted to give hint, should not have brought that theme BS when no one was following it. Like if 3/4 contestants arent following it (exluding Suvarna on your account of Mahrashtrian flavours), a homecook already under pressure getting comments like "is this representing your 6 weeks journey?" when priya tried to explain, she cut her out and said along lines "I can't see your journey" like please, I found it really harsh from my POV.

Edit: Adding, not denying her dish was not upto mark in any of my posts, I found this weird, only she was being reminded of this theme directly during competition, thats it.

Theme needs to stay fair for everyone, not a single comment on sachin or naziya's dish on their dishes reflecting their journey even during tasting. So I dont care how sad they were acting while eliminating Priya, it is the hypocrisy I cant stand.

Also we have to note that Suvarna made the dishes using Priya's pantry so even Suvarna made a completely plant based dish. And priya make risotto. I think that's what made her go out. I'm sure arborio rice can be used as many other things than just Risotto. She had lentils too and vegetables. So she could've used it to elevate her food in a different way than just plain risotto and that tomato sauce and raddish salad. I think that's what made her out of the show. It was too simple and didn't show her journey in the kitchen of how she could properly utilize her vegan products.

I'm just mad that it's Priya before Naziya and not the other way around. It's very unfair that Baa had to get out in the first week itself whereas Naziya could come back and also get into top 10. Maybe it's in their clauses. I think Sony does have that for all it's reality shows. Even in the dance shows if someone is injured they call them back later. On one hand it's nice whereas on the other hand it's unfair. I'm mad more because Naziya is not utilising her second chance in the kitchen and instead worsening it for everyone else who have been around in the kitchen for weeks.

The only Sindhi dish he made was Dal Pakwaan.
It would do wonders for him to start using elements of sindhi cuisine - we use a lot of khatta, meetha, teekha and even bitter in a lot of our everyday dishes.

He definitely is confused or maybe wants to do too many things. I blame it on age. I think as he grows older he’ll mature and understand flavours and what works better.

I still think he has a lot to offer, even today while his flavours weren’t the best, a lot of his elements were interesting- the two coloured tacos, the salad, the mayonnaise (though it curdled). I think he just needs to learn to push himself that little bit more.

This is a challenge I wanted to see, and honestly it shouldn’t have been so difficult. Most of them got a lot of ingredients in their baskets. I think it had a lot to do with attitude, and Priya sort of gave up on seeing Naziya’s basket.

I do think Suvarna got the best basket. She had a plethora of vegetables - gives you a lot of options. Suvarna seemed very unsure but eventually made a dish that was visually appealing and tasted good. I won’t call it the most innovative dish - I’ve eaten something similar - polenta base with cooked vegetable. But I have to give her credit - she used the ingredients well and gave it her famous Maharashtrian touch. I’ve had Maharashtrian garlic chutney and if that’s what she made, I’m sure it would’ve tasted amazing with orange (I like it with almost everything). She truly deserved to win dish of the day. As annoying as she is, she cooks well. When she makes a good dish, it’s usually exceptional.

Naziya - she had a good basket, she had more than enough things to make many desserts. Atleast she had all ingredients and no ingredient was forgotten. She blamed Sachin for yesterdays failure and I got so annoyed. I understand blaming the other person, but she was the one who forgot so many ingredients. Anyway coming to her dessert - again no innovation - a cake, frosting and fruit gel/jelly, a hazelnut crisp. Even what she thought of innovation - the addition of the sichuan pepper to the frosting has been done several times. She should be lucky that her accidental fruit leather turned out so good. I found the comments on playing strange. Why can’t the fruit leather be cut, especially when hers wasn’t a texture that could be difficult to cut? Seemed like a zabardasti ka comment.

Sachin - his basket had a lot of stuff, but a lot of it was lentils. Still he had more than enough stuff to make multiple dishes. Tacos haven’t been made this season, so I was okay with, still won’t call it an innovation. His tacos did look dry, though I loved the vibrant pink from the addition of beetroot purée. He used dal to knead the yellow dough; something that happens in Sindhi homes (though I’ve never had it; isn’t cooked in my house) and didn’t just give the taco colour but also some flavour. The tacos to me were very thick, maybe that is why they were dry. He could’ve just made one pink and one yellow taco (or a thin taco with yello and pink stripes). If his tacos weren’t so thick, I think his dish would’ve been much better. I liked what he chose for his salad and used pickled onions to add crunch and sweet and sour flavours. He made his mayonnaise in a hurry and it unfortunately curdled. I think overall his dish was good.

Priya - she had the worst basket; considering she wanted to cooking a vegan dish. I think the others had brought extra ingredients but not Naziya. Won’t be surprised if she even forgot some! They had to show their journey through their dish and if she used meat she wouldn’t be able to show her journey. However she could’ve used the vegetables she had (carrot, radish and peppers) to create something else. She could’ve even made a risotto with the vegetables and made a lentil crisp, would’ve seemed better than what she had. I never liked her initially, thought she didn’t deserve to be here. But she grew on me eventually. It was sad to see her go, when she didn’t even deserve to be in the bottom.

I agree with the others that the judges wanted Naziya or Sachin out. And it would’ve been Sachin today, but Priya didn’t even put up a fight.
