Shiva's condition has been quite confusing, to say the least. I'm not sure what exactly they are trying to show.
Keeping him with his family would have been a big risk after everything that happened. Even now his 'mothers' are more concerned about themselves and their feelings, pain and needs. It seems like a terrible environment to stay in. It certainly isn't conducive to mental peace either.
The most likely plot is that coming back will help him recover and Raavi's decision to take him away will be shown wrong. She will then be berated by Shiva for separating him from his family. Either she will apologise or be thrown out.
Let's see if they manage to surprise us by showing something different this time.
P.S. Were they told not to inform her about her past in the film? That seems wrong. Even if it was to not stress her, I'd hate to be in that position. It would still feel like deception. I'm glad it seemed to have worked out well for the person whose life this was based on. It couldn't have been easy for her or her husband.
