So if you are a feminist then you need to say that "Women Are Best" and can't even state qualities you see or find in men as it would be considered against women .
I hv seen thousand of people giving generalized statement over men and women so what? It's their experience and who is saying their opinion is a fact . Opinions are subjective.
Hv seen many people saying "women are more emotional than men" does it mean "men are emotionless"
So stop seeing every action of a person from the lens of feminism or chauvinism .
People change their definition regarding all these terms according to their convenience.
No offense Amanya, but you have got the context completely wrong.
If you are a feminist, you do not need to say women are best, and you can absolutely point out wrong in other women if you find any. Right and wrong has no gender to it. Women & men both makes mistake, both are flawed, both can do wrong things and they should be called out for what it is. Feminism never said women are better than men in anyways, the movement is only about giving women their rights in every field without letting them face any bias because of their gender. Yes, few people definitely misuses it but that's a different topic altogether.
If thousands people are sharing generalised statements about women or men that is equally wrong. Two wrong doesn't make one right. It can't be counted just as an "opinion" when you drag an entire gender into any context be it positive or negative. I am sure on a daily basis we do end up passing such statements because that's how we are conditioned since childhood. I am not going to act holier than though, because I am sure I have passed such comments too intentionally or unintentionally. But, that doesn't make it right. We are all learning and just trying to be better I believe, so why not accept that passing generalised comments about men or women both are wrong? Why it has to be, "Oh but men gets generalised too". Both are wrong, how difficult is it to understand? As in this case the comment was on women so the discussion was about feminism, if someone made a comment on men we could discuss it from men pov too.
And, even if we just forget the feminist lense as you asked, the comment Nimrit made was a generalisation which is just not right. It is still very ignorant and wrong of her. I rest my case.🙌
