What's wrong in asking Indian's opinion on American Women?

Haven't seen the whole IV but I guess the tone of the IV is light hearted so questions were fine

It was a stupid interview .

However just to keep this discussion limited to within the content of the clip you have posted ...then..the way Oprah started was, you are a representative of your culture.

What's your opinion on American Women, do they think we are loud? Opinionated? Do we have too many divorces? ..

Aish pulled various dumb faces and then said oh now that's up for discussion.

My take away was ...that aish Instead of supporting every woman by encouraging them to have voice & the importance of sharing opinion's. Aish inferred with her silly facial expressions that being loud and having opinions isn't the way to be, that her culture was superior and woman in India are obedient and will never divorce.

Aish did this throughout the whole interview. Aish combated every question with quintessential responses that lacked substance.

How's that in any way clever?😕

American women divorce too much?

How about many Indian women have no option but to stay in bad and sometimes abusive marriages.

I'd forgive her a little though because these were the 90s. Massive globalization time. And a lot of Indians were doing exactly this when going abroad. Tremendous inferiority complex about themselves manifesting as a fake pride in even the negatives in India.

You don't see this today because exposure has made Indians a little more secure about themselves, ready to admit both positives and negatives.

Guess Oprah was asking about the stereotypes about American women among the third world population

And there's for the most part some truth in stereotypes

There's never being able to get out of marriage no matter what (for saath janam)) and then there's getting hot and heavy too soon, getting hitched and getting bored the next instant

I don't think Aish was the best at giving interviews. Especially the ones she gave in the west could have been so much better. But it is hard to answer this question without at least offending one community. That is why she probably did not give a straight answer.

She said, "It can be a discussion."

Part of that discussion can be due to fear of being judged Indian women have to stay in abusive marriages. Due to the same backward ideology American women are judged in India.

It can be a discussion of what Indian society tends to hold most dearly in some cases is their reputation and morals. But are women held to a higher standard?

There are so many different ways it can be interpreted. But she def was very cautious about not giving a straight answer.

That being said she could have handled most of her interviews in the west better and not giggled so much. She is much more intelligent than the impression she probably left.

But her expressions are extra cute here! Her beauty was at its peak. This was the time of her prime.

Aish dated selmon before he was selmon, he didn’t have any controversy. Unlike sush who dated lalit after he was a fugitive.

And it’s real queen aish who spoke up against selmon, while ur so called real queen sush to date harps his praises. Calling him cringe names like jaan 😵 (no offence to the jaan sayers)

Ur entire comment abt aish seeing selmon just reeks of vile victim blaming. I guess ppl stop being Progressive when it’s about a celeb they dislike

All in all, If you want a woman stupid enough to date lalit then sush is your fugly gecko looking woman
