Yes yes why not. Vannu is achha pita after all. So what if he abused anupama for 26years, so what if he had ema and lied for 9 years, so what if anupama was feeling suffocated in that house, so what if she was called characterless there. Anuj also clarified that the reason of grief and silence between them is that they have different expectations of each other, while Anuj wants her to focus on CA and her own mental health, Anupamaa wants Anuj to support her, strike that, tolerate her while she fixes all the problems of the Shahs.

To a lay man, it will feel like Anuj is doing exactly what Vanraj did. But it was also specified that those who never ask for themselves are repeatedly ignored. Anuj insisted for Anupamaa to give attention to her real family because she was ignoring them, and she was mostly ignoring them because they never forced her to prioritize them until now, which again Anuj also talked about when he said that it was probably too late for him to have made those demands. Had he done that earlier, things would not have worsened.
