There has been no effort to show that V still feels for Sai. If they are wanting to give that narrative z they should have shown fake marriage or more scenes where V finds it hard to atay away from Sai or V wanting to know about her past few years- at least from other sources like UM etc since he cant directly ask, he should have been more involved with Savi- wanting to ask Sai more about her and in that process learning about Sai's struggle. He should have realized that Sai must have killed many of her dreams, desires and compromised, worked really hard to make sure that Savi gets a comfortable and happy childhood. He should have been shown giving more admiring glances, having monologues to acknowledge Savis amazing upbringing which is 100% Sai's effort. He wasnt involved. He should have been shown wondering what if he hadnt chosen to bail P and say cruel things to Sai. He should have been shown genuinely choosing Sai over P in a more direct way to make it clear that he'd choose Sai only even if he's in denial. He should have been shown remembering his anniversary with Sai, not forgetting it. He should have been shown melting towards Sai not going closer to P.
The narrative is not showing V having any soft corner, forget love for Sai.
Infact now looking back at post leap episodes I realize that even though I felt i wasnt enough, atleast in the immediate post leap there was some affection, memories of Sai and more distance from P- he used to say Mera beta a lot, forgetting to include P. It wasnt a lot but atleast he had Sai's name in his mind intermittently then. But now its like he hates her. And they cannot give equal footage to both his equations- VP and V Sai. He needs to be clearly shown prioritizing Sai and melting towards Sai if thats the direction in which they want to go - Sairat endgame. Because they cant give a token end game with their current tactics.
Right now he is everyday more pro P despite having reasons to melt towards Sai- seeing sai's maturity, skill at her job, the way she interacts with the kids, how she has kept aside personal grudges to cure Vinu and P, the help she gave to counsel Vinu and get through to him like even P and him couldnt do. They were working together too. but we have got inconsequential lollipop scenes.
When he was married to Sai, he just needed an excuse to defend P and would accept all her excuses. But he has barely done the same for Sai except when its extreme. He vouched for her in the orphanage job and also saying that she's not lying about Savi paternity.
But apart from that, the shift towards Sai is not visible.
Infact he's allowing P to cuddle with him, beds are joined, he took pheras, he is overly touchy now. Keeps saying humaara baccha, meri biwi. If he loved Sai, he'd not be so casual with all this.
So when thats the case, there is no way a Sai V endgame is desirable.
One he doesn't deserve her. Two, he does not even regret anything , has done nothing to redeem himself. Three, he clearly does NOT love Sai. Him not loving P doesn't imply he loves Sai. He's getting closer to P.
He has placed P above his kids. He forgot the venom she spewed against Savi. He doesn't care about his once a week visitation policy with Savi.
Now Vinu will have to likely remain "adopted" even though he deserves to know who his real parents are. He made all the fuss about his right to know Savi. What about Sai's right?
He is the worst kinda man.
Not once does he regret the words he said to her and how he has behaved with her. Its never genuine introspection of how different and kindhearted Sai is, compared to him and P. If he doesnt recognize Sai's goodness, her sacrifice, her pain, her love/devotion, her heartbreak, his mistakes, his crimes, his sins then there should be no scope for Sai V endgame at all.
