For me, I cannot speak as the average movie goer as I haven't watched many Bollywood films lately, and even then I am choosy.

I haven’t been to a movie cinema since March 6 2020

Hope there's a writers strike in South industry and Korean, Turkish industry too

Actually this has always been the case that regional cinema does better during a Hollywood strike, generally because that causes the regional cinema to re-evaluate it's prices as well. This is a blessing to the Korean, South industries, Turkish..etc whatever.

some of those movies were successful this year lol

I am not the least bit concerned. I have no stake in the box office. My stake is in my personal entertainment and I have plenty of good choices.

Why should I feel anything about decline? Not like I have stakes in industry and flops bother me. I never even liked the Ranveer or Ranbir generation and have mostly been losing interest since 90s stars began to cut down on their work or began to do crap films.

I like my older stars be it Khans or Bachchan or Kumar, Devgan or Roshan.

And I do not like new heroines like Alia or Deepika or Katrina either.

Content mattered more to me and ever since even Aamir stopped doing good films, I stopped watching BW.

I have not seen or liked any film post Bahubali series to be honest and did not like any Hindi film post Dangal.

Besides the excessive nepotism. There’s herd mentality, unoriginal music, lazy dancing and writing. The entire industry needs a reinvention

The biggest thing is though, Bollywood is lacking actors that evoke public interest. Nobody is excited about anyone anymore. There’s hardly any good male actors around and 80 % of actresses look and act the same

Only films with good scripts should succeed

Even now although mostly good films are succeeding some overhyped movies are also collect good money.

Films like Brahmastra were visually aesthetic but the story was poor

I think actors and actresses of these days are not that talented and famous as the old ones. There's too many, that could be one of the reasons. Most of them are nepo kids and it has become easier to enter the industry which probably explains the lack of talent unlike 90s.

Feel bad for the technicians but not the fat cats at the top. If you have content like Pitchers and Ghar Waapsi being available on OTT for peanuts, there is no reason for the audience to shell out 1000s of rupees on recycled trash or agenda driven filth served up by BW.
