This tweet reeks of Amitabh's hidden disappointment.

Amitabh hopelessly still tries to console self that his son is successful or maybe did not get his due. Navya's podcast made me feel Shweta and co also resent a lot why people troll Abhishek and compare him to Amitabh or what price they pay for being his kids and having to live up to such impossibly high standards.

Filmfare has always given awards liberally to Abhishek. It is no surprise Abhishek wins Filmfares. Filmfare has always been kind to Bachchans, Kapoors and SRK.

Amitabh seems to embarass Abhishek in these public attempts to promote his awards or prove he is a success or flaunt how proud he is as a father. Maybe jokes about Abhishek as a failure or nepo kid or being there only due to dad or used as example of new generation being not as good as old ones has hurt AB sr. Amitabh seems to have wanted a legacy like Kapoors. He belongs to that generation that saw power of Kapoors. He must be disappointed he did not get it and his kids are nowhere as successful professionally as he is. Rajesh Khanna was another one who hoped Aarav will be superstar one day and prove worth of his genes (probably failures of Twinkle and Rinke in showbiz disheartened him).

Have you seen jogi? Diljit does not have as much influence as the Bachchans. Abhishek honestly, I do not like saying this, was underrated as an actor. But I feel Diljit deserved it. Honest opinion. It is not just because he is Punjabi or Sikh or anything. Abhishek was good in Dasvi. But it did not beat this.

Diljit is probably being sidelined due to his open vocal stand on contentious political issues. Same as Kangana.

Award juries like to play safe. Aamir, Anupam, Naseer, Paresh, Ratna, Shabana are others who were slowly sidelined by commercial awards after their vocal, open stand on political issues.

Brands like to play safe. Abhishek is diplomatic and non controversial, hence easy to give awards, besides being a nepo kid which gives him distinct advantage over Diljit or a film like Jogi based on 1984.
