Terrible Movie Guilty Pleasure - Page 3

It was Kya Kool Hain Hum when I was a kid.

Several Fardin Kareena movies that I don’t remember the names of now.

Tbh, the guilty pleasure phase remained when I had no to limited internet access and had Zee cinema and Set Max as prime source of entertainment in between studies.

These days I won’t watch a thing unless it has good reviews, hype and WOM.

That was one during childhood. When I became an adult I kind of started hating Hrithiku's character in it. First he completely looked past Rani' character Pooja because he was so infatuated with Tina's beauty. Then he blamed everything on Pooja when he wanted to get back with her. He did not realize he and lead Tina on by so much then. He blamed Pooja for not telling him the truth? But what inclination did he give her when he went to India that he was in love with the girl that wrote him the letters anyway? And he did not just respond to those letters because he was in love with Tina's memories from childhood.

Afterwards he had more of relationship type equation with Tina. She lost her father. He left her when she needed him the most. Pooja was probably the strongest character in the movie. Not many best friends would give up the guy they love for their best friend. But she felt Tina had no one left after her dad died. Hrithik character was not evil. But he came across somewhat self-centered. And I extremely disliked him for blaming everything on Pooja.

Gee loved MDK as a kid.

But when you think about it, how come Raj never had the slightest idea that the woman he had a pen-relationship with, was not Tina? He was already attracted and had an on-going relationship with Tina when he got to know the truth. And as soon as he knew, he gave zero f--k to Tina and her feelings and switche to Pooja in a split second. That's not how human emotions work LOL

And Pooja, Lmao. Sacrificing her life by marrying a guy even though she clearly is not interested just so Tina can be happy? 🤣

I actually dislike all 3 characters

Raj is an ass who says he’s interested in “inner beauty” and “other things than beauty” but walks straight to the hot and happening tina instead of Pooja…he also emotionally manipulates Rohan and Tina later in the movie 😡

Tina couldn’t care less abt raj until she saw how hot and rich he was …and he was like her ticket to being a trophy wife and enjoying luxury without studying / having a job/ working for a living ….I didn’t see no love there….just dependency …he was her easy way out after she was this bechari who lost her dad…she goes straight from being distraught abt her dad to the eager bride dying to get married …

Pooja thinks she’s sacrificial and bechari but she caused the whole mess to begin with …then she almost ruins Tina and raj and rohans lives by forcing them stuck into a loveless marriage just coz she thinks Tina is useless by herself ..(kinda tru abt the useless part but atleast give her a chance to survive on her own)

I don't think the film gave any indication that Tina wanted to be with Raj due to his money. They never showed her career or interest. But she did not need to study to have a career. She could have pursued modeling. Despite being a bit full of herself, Tina was a nice character. She initially chose to play along to help her friend, Pooja. The fact she broke the truth to Raj before the wedding also shows her integrity. Even her stepping aside after she realized Raj loved Pooja shows how nice she was.
