What is a shemdi?

It's a marathi word meaning girl with a runny nose. Similarly shembda means boy with a runny nose. It's not offensive but people may find it coz the way stan says it.

Just like some of us replace the f word with fudge when saying wtf. Fudge is not an offensive word, but it feels like coz the way someone says.

Shembud means mucus or snot in Marathi.

Shembda is a person (male) who has a runny nose (sometimes 24/7).

Shembdi is a female version of that.

When you address a male with that derogatory term, you call him SHEMBDYA.

For a female, you’d call her SHEMBDI / SHEMBDIN.

It's regional stuff, I guess. Every language has certain words that seem offensive to its people. More than the literal meaning, it narrows down to the context in which it gets used. Why they're certainly not the best words to use. The words like shembda-shembdi, bhaamta-bhaamti don't mean anything offensive as such if you look at their literal meanings but try saying that to Marathi folks and it's unlikely that you'll be spared. 😆
