It's regional stuff, I guess. Every language has certain words that seem offensive to its people. More than the literal meaning, it narrows down to the context in which it gets used. Why they're certainly not the best words to use. The words like shembda-shembdi, bhaamta-bhaamti don't mean anything offensive as such if you look at their literal meanings but try saying that to Marathi folks and it's unlikely that you'll be spared. 😆

What is this bhaamti now? 😆

Hi! Is that so! We have a similar word pronounce chemrhi in Bengali which means young girl in lesser regards, not exactly derogatory as people sometimes jokingly use it, more like how they say chokri in Hindi. Don’t know if both came from the same root as they describe young girls but one with a runny nose is really funny description. I was wondering why it was so offensive, it’s not as much what he said but how he said.

Chamcha, Naukar, Ramukaka, Chaatukar, Naaliwali Aurat, Baithnewali Aurat are very much okay than Popat and Shembdi according to most viewers🌚.
