Shah Rukh Khan's next movie "Pathaan" controversy is still making headlines. A number of Karni Sena members and representatives from various Hindu organisations protested against Deepika Padukone's use of the saffron colour in the "Pathaan" song "Besharam Rang" on Friday. According to reports from Etimes, the filming of Shah Rukh's "Dunki" in Bhedaghat, close to Jabalpur, was also halted by the protesters and masses.
The Karni Sena members were spotted chanting the Hanuman Chalisa while raising slogans for hours while holding black and saffron flags in their hands. In Bhedaghat, a sizable police presence was used to contain the situation. The "Dunki" filmmakers were ordered to stop shooting in 10 minutes. D espite the threats, the shooting went on even after the stipulated time.
The protesters said Shah Rukh Khan and the "Pathaan" producers had depicted the saffron colour in the movie in a "indecent and unpleasant" manner, and that this would not be accepted. They also requested that filming for these kind of movies cease on the banks of the revered Narmada River. Additionally, the demonstrators insisted that the location where the movie was shot ought to be cleaned by spraying it with cow pee (Gomutra).
For the unversed, ‘Besharam Rang’ from the much-awaited Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathan’ was released earlier this week. However, her orange bikini kicked up a social media storm from many Hindu outfits and leaders as they claimed the song has insulted the saffron colour and Hindu sentiments.
