My guess would be that they think the track with Shweta and the baby is getting them high ratings so they want to stretch it as much as they can. Not to forget the episodes are now being telecast 7 days a week.
The show has become both boring as well as repetitive. I don't know where exactly they are headed with this track but it seems they don't want anything else to take the focus or screen-space away from it and hence are not willing to show anything else.
But it can also just be a result of not wanting to hold the characters accountable for their actions or/and not knowing how to properly resolve issues between them. This has after all been a common theme throughout the show.
For shweta drama was good n engaging bt think is they haven't use any other characters to full potential

This show never gives closure to all character in depth reaction from first wedding drama to till date
