the media is sensationalizing it too and calling up her family and her brother didnt come apparently so now he is against it. Even the fans are being weird. When ppl make very different choices the reaction of others does tell their true character over it. Its her life if she is happy and they are good for each other who are we to judge.

My guess would be that they think the track with Shweta and the baby is getting them high ratings so they want to stretch it as much as they can. Not to forget the episodes are now being telecast 7 days a week.
The show has become both boring as well as repetitive. I don't know where exactly they are headed with this track but it seems they don't want anything else to take the focus or screen-space away from it and hence are not willing to show anything else.
But it can also just be a result of not wanting to hold the characters accountable for their actions or/and not knowing how to properly resolve issues between them. This has after all been a common theme throughout the show.
