Shades of Love
Quoting my own words from an FF "Love...Thy Destiny"
Love â Unconditional!
Love an emotion that drives and rules over all its contemporaries, anything falling within the vicinity of feelings! Capable of invoking the biggest sacrifices and worst actions. Yet, in its purest and unadulterated form is selfless and devoid of expectations or conditions. Somewhere down that chartered journey of life, the very selfless emotion is corrupted and tarnished with selfish intents. I wonder when I say my love is unconditional, do I unintentionally harbour self-seeking motives. Am I also a culprit in tainting this pure gift of life!
The episode start off with two people who experienced true love. While their relationship could not withstand the test of time, but their love for EO continued to fill their hearts. And the fruit of this very love today brought them face to face. She is the result of their love who now connects their broken hearts. Their break up proving that love alone cannot make a relationship survive but is an integral part of any the relationship.
There is a FB and we have another of their favourite feeding food session. Memories of their good times. Interestingly neither is upset about the memory. If they have really fallen out of love and if they hate EO, the memories should also not invoke such a casual reaction. And the family stand witnessing it as they would have earlier. Just like the audience, they are also aware of their lil secrets of feeding EO.
We hate when Sai-V scenes are recreated with V-P. But with this FB, we can compare the two scenes. What each has and what it lacks. Love at its peak and mere formality. One is a high and the other a complete dry.
Savi is a very clever and observant child. She notices and voices out the smallest of things.
The spicy food eating competition starts between the kids. After the initial warning, Sai lets' Savi have her way. She lets V and Savi have their time. She doesn't interrupt. She lets V have his share of time with Savi knowing what it means to him.
On the contrary, P is seeking attention for her son. The way she scolded V for ignoring V would have been natural reaction of any mother. Only if it was that genuine and pure.
I agree V was too occupied with Savi, and ignored Vinu. But it is not intentional. And the moment he realised he included him.
But the point is why did P have to call V to give water to Vinu. If her child is coughing , will she not try to get him the water herself. Why wait?
And it wasn't like V was having a fun session, he was also tending to Savi.
It felt more like a competition, and she hated that she lost. P may love Vinu, but he is her means that binds V to her. And now she sees that very link/means is becoming weak.
Why else, would she leave in anger while Vinu was still seated there. She left him there when she felt he was been ignored? Is that how a mother would react? Was her anger more important than Vinu?
Sai on the other hand is observing and is concerned, for Vinu and P. She had already seen how the things would get complicated and had warned V. She didnât voice it out, because it is not her place to talk between them. Unlike how P would interfere between Sai-V conversation before leap. If it was P she would have cashed in such an opportunity and tried to pull Sai down. But Sai kept her stand as Savi's mother.
Another contrast between Sai and P as wife and mother.
Coming to gifting scene. Sai was concerned about the expensive gifts. She has brought up Sai in a very modest upbringing. And she does not want her to get spoiled after being exposed to such expensive gifts.
We spoke about the hypocrisy of the Chavans at how they showered all their love and gave such a grand welcome to Savi as she is their blood, but did not match it up for Vinu as he is adopted.
But I want to focus on P here. Yes, Vinu's adopted status should not be any grounds for biases. He should be treated equally. But why is P unable to take Savi's acceptance. Isn't what Savi is getting her right? As the daughter of that CN, she is eligible for all this.
She is living a borrowed life and she cannot even stand Savi enjoying this who has all the rights to it. WOW!!!
On the other hand, Sai was not willing to reveal Savi's truth and later to let Savi go to CN, because she felt it would create problems in V-P's married life and give complex to Vinu. This is when all the legal rights are with her, and what P enjoys is her charity.
V gets the admission form for Savi. As a father he meant well. He wants his daughter to receive best education. But he has already decided and spoken to the school authorities. As Savi's mother, he should have consulted Sai before taking the decision. There are important calls. He is taking the same route. Sai is immature and he being the older and seasoned one between them he calls the shots.
How did V ignore the fact that Sai was working in KK and was leading her life. He was so proud of Sai and her academic accomplishments. Then why does he feel that Sai is incapable of providing good education to Savi. And Sai who is so particular about education will not be serious about her own daughter?
Anyways, baring that it felt like the usual squabble between parents who want the best for the child but differ in opinion and ideologies.
The switch between "meri" and "humari" beti needs separate discussion. This adds to my list of "Patralekha" and "Mumma".
I think once, Savi clears the admission test, V will insist on the school Sai prefers. As he would understand that Sai has an understanding there. And only name will not guarantee good education.
But the problem will arise when V will try to do the same what V did with Sai with P. He will decide to get Vinu also in the same school as Savi.
However, P is like V. So their choices match. She will not buy it. And more because she will not like Sai in any way connecting with her family. She will want to hold on to Vinu more strongly now. He is her only hope.
And to keep his importance, she will keep throwing Vinu on V. Reminding V of Vinu and indirectly of her own existence.
Ashwini got her due from Sai and she will get some from her new fav in form of some emotional melodrama form. Sai is firm. She may accept Chavans in Savi's life, but she is no one to them. Sai asked her if she is gifting the pendant to her, because she gave them their grandchild. How petty that sounds as it comes from Ashwini. Because she is changing as per her convenience. Sai's lines screaming of Ashwini's hypocrisy and shallowness. "Apni poti ki maa ya meri purani aai". Because she changes as per situation. And if it comes from such a person it feels like a payment of sorts. Is V the payment Ashwini gave P for giving them Vinu? How crass coming from a mother herself.
Ashwini needs this. She could barely meet Sai's eyes. And I hope Sai does not relent. She knows that Ashwini's love for her was not so selfless and was tied to V. How can she trust her and risk of being betrayed again? She loved and trusted her like her own mother.
And in contrast there is Ninad who once hated Sai. But once he accepted her there was no looking back. Nothing changed his love and trust in her.
Mrs Chavan and Baba say all the story. How they both are now placed in Sai's heart. Love and respect. Ninad earned it, Ashwini threw it.
Precap - A parallel of the infamous cafe scene between V-P? Desperate P shamelessly begging for something that the she neither has rights on, nor is the other person willing. Just forcing her way into people's life by pleading. Worse than a beggar. At least they do it for survival and are not bulldozing your lives.
So will V also MU Sai like, Sai MU V when she had seen V-P in the cafe? V had come back to CN and informed everyone about their meeting, but cleverly left out P's intentions.
But I guess Sai will not. She will keep the conversation to herself.
Look at the love of two women for the same man. Sai should feel betrayed and cheated. Yet, she is was always looking out for V and his family. She wishes well for them and does not want Savi or herself to create any problems in their lives intentionally or unintentionally. Selfless Love.
Truly being happy in the happiness of the one you love.
Ironically it is P who claimed it and not Sai. A clear example, how actions speak louder than words. It was all showoff and no feel for P. Wheras Sai does not believe in showing off but doing what she feels is right.
I had written about this somewhere. P is fine with V living as a dead man as long as he is married to her. His happiness is not connected to hers. She only wants her happiness which lies in owning him. Sai has not seen V's state when she left. Only heard about it in just a few words and she melted. And she will not think about separating V from Savi. At least not until some dire circumstances.
Moor - I have agreed with your perspective on Mother P and Wife P. But here it falters for me a bit. I feel that all this will happen in the garb on Mother P. Sai is seeing this Mother P and is sympathetic towards her condition. But I'm hoping she will soon see the other P as well. P is looking out for herself in Vinu's name. Because she knows she by no means can win V.
P who was witness to V's sufferings did not for once consider what will happen to V if Savi goes away. What good will that V be to her or Vinu? If she is truly pleading for this bargain for Vinu's sake, how is it even going to help Vinu? See a father who is suicidal? Or does she believe that after knowing about Savi, Vinu is still capable of getting V out of depression. This is what I meant. P will risk V himself as long as he can be tied to her.
Unlike Sai who has on various occasions tried to walk out of V-P lives when she felt that they wanted to be together. Even today she is doing the same.
P is very petty and disgusting at bargaining. She was willing to offer herself as a servant at V's feet in return for marrying her. And now she is offering money to Sai to keep Savi away from V. I fail to see that as love. or even a selfish love. This is obsession which can turn ugly.
