Okay I am so confused 😂 with the word ‘remake’

Not sure if this is current trend but almost all shows are ‘remake’ of something or the other, no originality.

Secondly, what’s the point of remake when the original story is modified in such a way that one starts to think what’s original 🤔

I have seen this trend in Bollywood where some remakes are better than original but in ITV I haven’t seen one show where I can say this
