I want to start using retinol but I'm wary of any side effects it might cause. Also have to check and see what other serums I'm using now that will need to be avoided with it.
Skin care is hard work.
But it is so so worth it. 😌

Yes it does! I’ve begun having it & I already see a slight difference. My skin looks slightly more plump & well-hydrated. It’s magical! Other great sources of collagen are, fish with skin on & nuts.

I have no idea what any of these stuff are. I just assumed I’d be young forever. 😭

LMFAOOO!!! I DEEPLY WISH THAT WERE TRUEEEE!!!
Just start off with a good face wash, moisturiser & SUNSCREEN ABSOLUTELY EVERY SINGLE DAY. Research on what actives/serums you feel your skin needs. At 1 time, don’t add more than 2, you don’t need your skin to overwork itself. If you’re mid-20s, and above, get a good retinol, use a PEA sized amount atleast 2 times a week, buffer it with your moisturiser if it is acting up. ALWAYS USE SUNSCREEN THE NEXT DAY (who am I kidding. USE SUNSCREEN EVERY SINGLE DAY. It’s the best beauty tip ever.)
2-3 times a week at night, let your skin rest. Just wash it & moisturise it. It’s called skin-cycling.

you have a couple of treatment options I’ll outline them for you, then you can pick and choose what suits you best. Firstly you need to identify an underlying cause like hormonal cause and thyroid issues, if that’s the case consult a doctor. Otherwise start with a very simple skincare routine, don’t overwhelm your skin with too many products it’s already irritated so the goal is to calm down the irritation and treat the acne.
So for the acne itself you need a treatment cleanser which contains either one of the following ingredients but pick just one.
Benzoyl Peroxide: (Panoxyl facewash) most effective in treating acne but can highly irritate the skin so use sparingly in the beginning like with gap of 2 days or three days then slightly increase the frequency once your skin can tolerate it.
Salicylic Acid: Not as effective as the first one but less irritating can be used on alternate days (Cera Ve salicylic acid cleanser or the inkey list salicylic cleanser are the best ones)
Mandelic Acid: My personal favourite most mild and gentle one can be used daily, but you’ll get slow results but if you’re patient enough it surely works. Pick a cleanser with 5% mandelic acid.
Now the second step is to pick a moisturiser, go for an oil free water based one like the Neutrogena hydroboost, Cera Ve for oily skin or Cetaphil for oily skin. Anyone will do.
After this choose an oil free SPF (Most important) Neutrogena dry touch, elta MD, Cera Ve suncreen they’re all good, gel based sunscreen is even better if u can find one that’s fragrance free.
So that’s your morning routine wash moisturise and use SPF. If you’re using benzoyl or Salicylic cleanser then use a gentle cleanser on days you’re not using the treatment one for that you can either use the Neutrogena hydroboost gel wash or the Simple micellar gel wash.
Toners are optional but if you wanna use then the Paula’s choice 2% Bha is great use it before moisturiser.
Now for night time firstly you need to double cleanse with micellar water first( Garnier one is good) then follow it up with your normal cleanser. After cleansing you can do spot treatment on just your acne, for that you have a few options
Benzoyl peroxide: Differin gel has 10% benzoyl peroxide can irritate the skin so again start slow but highly effective. Always use SPF the next day. Use it for spot treatment.
Isotretinoin: A form of retinoid, also highly effective and irritating so again start slow then increase the frequency with time. Use it to spot treat only the acne.
Hydrocolloid patches: I would highly recommend you buy these. You can apply them on the acne overnight and it dries it up in the morning especially the cystic ones.
Follow it up with your moisturiser to lock it in and that’s it.
Thank you so much. 🤗
I’ll see which is suitable for me.

I WISH I WAS IN MY MID 20s! I’m 30 (🥲). Thank you so much for your recommendations. I only ever use sunscreen when I’m going to the beach, which basically happens once a year. I’ll buy a new one tomorrow and will start applying it everyday.
I feel great difference with retinol but I’m not feeling anything with Latic acid. I was going to try salicylic acid for exfoliation as I sometime get congested pores. I had a look at copper peptide and god they are all expensive except The ordinary! I’m going to go with that. I frown a lot and I’m scared that I’m going to have lines all around my forehead and between my brows 😭😭

Agree with Mallika, sunscreen is a must.
You can also start with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide..they work well with almost all ingredients and are pretty gentle on the skin.
Thank you my love 🤗

I like it how she doesn’t follow other actresses going to gyms and getting photographed. She keeps it simple at home...
