Yes worldwide farmers supported the protest. Now this article was acclaimed by many intellectuals both in India, USA and the world. So don’t tell me it was just a left wing but who wrote this.

lol As long as you don't scoot away after making a few chip shots, am happy talking economics all day.😉😆

after the debt-and-scam-fuelled expansion of upa 2 years, our growth sure had to be slower than would have been otherwise. Remember that unlike the US, we cant just print our way and have our paper/ debt financed by the rest of the world. It's taken a while, but today our banks are in the strongest position they've ever been. Our foreign reserves are also up massively, and allowed us to defend the inr against tight us monetary policy. Yes, demonet did not work out. I dont think Modi counted for the ingenuity of Indians to still find ways to cheat the system.😆 But it was worth trying if only to see if corruption could be rid.

Too bad the farm laws were repealed because the were an important part of modernizing our agriculture and making it more efficient. We have more than 50% people in a sector that produces just 15% of our output. Not good. But that's been the congress legacy... But there are enough structural changes thanks to modi (direct cash transfers), digitlization, make in India defense etc, that have positioned it to be the strongest growing economy. But one wouldnt see any of this progress if they are reading from the pappu/ khalistani playbook.😉

Yes once again BBC one of the most trusted news sources is Khalistani. Where do you keep getting this label from ? Which represented would less than 2 percent of the protesters?

Are you actually going to blame the Centre for the drug problem in Punjab? Just do your research on the Akalis, the Badals & their role in infiltrating Punjab with drugs from across the border.

When Haryana was carved out of Punjab, Punjab had to share its water with Haryana, LEGALLY. It's been 60 years and Punjab still hasn't built the canal its liable to. Haryana has moved the Supreme Court multiple times over this. River Pollution is also a State subject. Please ask the Akalis.

Punjab was the richest but mismanagement, state politics, extreme corruption, lack of education & the feudal landlord system still practiced in its villages has been its downfall. While Punjab was one of the first state to imply technology in the farming sector, it's been one of the last in industrialization & development. The richest states are NOW the ones with advance IT cities like Gurgaon, Bangalore, Mumbai. Punjab has 0 "Smart Cities". It's still above the average GDP for now.

It's ignorant to blame the central government for dumb reasons when it's the feudal Culture of Punjab that has ruined it the most.
