The story is moving at a glacial pace. I guess there must be some logistical problem with the next scene in which Sarang should appear, and so they are putting us on the hamster wheel with Kanta Sheth and Arya scenes.

I am a bigger fan of Kusum's sickle than Rāvasāheba's beating-stick.

Arya's anger at Sarang is justified, but if she wants to marry him, her focus should be on rebuilding their childhood friendship and consoling him when Mukta refuses to marry him. Arya's demand for the necklace ahead of time should have rung alarm bells for the whole family.

One good development: we learned that Vaijayanti owned a lot of jewelry that she sacrificed, probably as capital for Rāvasāheba to reestablish the family fortunes. He credits Renuka's pāyaguṇa for what he accomplished only with Vaijayanti's support.

Good to see Vaijayanti showing some spine and finding ground before the likes of Renuka, Raosaheb and Arya. .

I thought Arya to be a sensible girl but she turned out to be dimwit wanting to show her right as the rightful daughter in law of the house by asking for the family necklace straight away .. Vaijayanti is smart enough to understand her intentions and hence asked her to not wear it until she proves her worth as Nagarkar soon...

Arya is indeed a dimwit. The whole family should have stood united to say that she is wasting their time. Arya should be considering the best way to approach Sarang (phone call from Gayatri? following him to Mukta's village?) and mitigate scandal, not demanding a symbol.

Why hasn't anyone in the family called Papya? He was at Sarang's side, even sleeping in Sarang's bed the whole time Mukta was in their house. They should be asking him to convince Sarang to come home without Mukta.

Yuvaraj, Madhavi, Rāvasāheba - three people in that household are ready to murder Mukta. Murder was a stupid ultimatum to warn Sarang not to bring Mukta home, but at this stage, when Mukta is holding out for a dignified proposal, what would murder accomplish? The scandal would grow bigger, Rāvasāheba's political rivals would demand a police investigation, especially if Sarang died too. What makes Madhavi and Yuvaraj think that they wouldn't go to prison?

Sarang tells Papya to go back because Mukta's village is dangerous. Why does he think so? He only knows Atmaram, who grovels at his feet. And when the mission is to bring back Mukta, doesn't Sarang need the car?

The family did try to contact and look for Papya initially but couldn't find him...The Nagarkar's know that Sarang and Papya are chums and hence it's useless trying to seek his help ...

Thanks for pointing it out; yes, Yuvaraj went to Papya's house when they couldn't find Sarang, and he reported that Papya was gone too.

However, after speaking to Sarang, they should have tried Papya's phone. And if he didn't pick up, they could have texted him. गरजवन्तास नसते अक्कल. They want to save the remnants of their reputation, so they should plead with Papya to discourage Sarang's madness.

You don't have to call it madness, but when I am imagining the family's point of view, it is madness that Sarang has fallen in love with the temporary kitchen servant, he has run away "to bring this family's daughter-in-law home," and he is defending her honour as "my wife" after a make-believe wedding that even she refuses to acknowledge.

As a viewer, I also think it is madness for an unemployed young man to go courting, and for him to bring his beloved to the house where her life has been threatened.

I am interested in the romance because they have had so little of it yet. Sarang and Mukta hardly know each other and have not had much conversation. Before Sarang tries to persuade Mukta to leave her home for him, let him learn about what she would be leaving behind. Let him tell her about what his life was like in the U.S.A., and what he wants to do in life, other than fall in love.

Maybe Mukta will get hurt by the murder attempt, and Sarang will stay with her family to look after her, giving him insight into their lifestyle. Not a spoiler; I haven't watched the Bengali original.

It seems that Mukta will save Sarang from the clutches of Kanta Sheth and his chamchas...

Raosaheb is after Mukta's blood, the track seems to be going on the lines of honour killing which is still prevalent in rural India...

Aaji cha character masta ahey ...Love how she gives it back to the vultures in the house without an ounce of fear !!
