Good job not adding DDLJ. 😆
coz someone rigged all of my polling results in one hour with some 60 mids from 1990 till 1994, so it was a lil sweet revenge 🤪😆

I understood from the poll options.😆
Anyways DDLJ is ok. Not bad but not great either. SRK - Kajol was great and some memorable dialogues. I liked it but the media hype attached to it, I never understood that. It wasn’t much popular in 90s. Never heard it’s praises much growing up. KKHH was more popular than DDLJ.
Later the whole Maratha Mandir PR and YRF hyping it in their every movie gave it a cult status.
Rangeela is the superior movie but I voted for Karan Arjun. I really like that movie.
From the list, I'd say Rangeela > Karan Arjun > Coolie No 1 > Najaayaz > AHAT.
Not really a fan of Barsaat or DDLJ for that matter.
I am 💯 sure Shy is rigging all these polls
For me when I think 1995 Bollywood, the only movie that immediately pops into my mind is Rangeela.
DDLJ
Raja
Coolie no.1
Akele Hum Akele Tum
Rangeela
It is true. I saw DDLJ hype only post mid 2000s. Not in 90s. It is not even top grosser of that decade nor had inspired real life trends.
KKHH became more popular and I remember people copying SRK's cool necklace, Kajol's short hair cut, hair bands and track suits, sporty look, Rani becoming popular overnight through that film and renewed craze for basketball after that film as well as trend of exchanging friendship bands after that film. Schools had to intervene to stop kids obsessing over bands they got or gave as it would extend for a week of Friendship day. Sales of basketballs went up and I rememeber many enrolling in basketball classes to learn the sport after that film.
DDLJ had only songs become popular at weddings then and a lot of films being on same theme about leads falling in love abroad or trying to convince family for marriage afterwards. YRF and some NRIs hyping it online and that Maratha mandir thing has kept film relevant. So have those angry baap Amrish Puri memes.

Ddlj show are houseful all over india yesterday. That itself speak how much people love that movie. Ddlj was the second highest grosser of the decade after hahk. Kkhh was far behind. Why don't people accept it's legacy.
We are only saying it was hyped up way more later in 2000s, 2010s and 2020s. Especially with advent of internet and YRF hyping its anniversaries.
In 90s it was popular but not as popular as it is made out to be or has become now. Neither was it considered a signature movie of its leads. SRK now gets asked to recreate the poses from DDLJ. It was not so in 90s nor did he recreate those scenes in other films, the way he recreated train scene in CE.
These screenings and crowds are mostly paid promotion. Same as Amitabh's old films being screened again in theatre on his 80th birthday and PR posting online how Don on big screen or Deewar on screen still caused craze.
Trend for stars to self celebrate on own bdays. And claim their old films still create magic in audience. No big deal.
It is same as hype for re release of Mughal e Azam in colour in 2004. Media hyped it but there was no BO on fire really.
I’m pretty sure they hooking up even now, but they don’t show it to the world...
If you had to pick just one Bollywood movie as your all-time favorite, which one would it be? And what makes it so special for you?
