Yes Coolpurvi is right. Rish Durvasa's anger is always part of God's leela. Afterall Durvasa is Lord Shiv's avatar. Durvasa curses always causes chaos but from this chaos good things emerge. If he never cursed Indra, no sagarmanthan wud never have occured.

okay here is it, after ruling for many years, finally came teh time for teh holy four to depart.

one day kalpurush came to meet ram and said he ahd an important messege to convey, it can be conveyed only to him and no one else should enter in tehmiddle of discussion else he should die.

laxman stood as guard to tehd oor to see taht no one entered, not even a fly.

then ame rishi durbasha, as always he is teh mot important and demade to see ram immediately, alxman forbade him not to go, he prepared to curse laxman and abolsih teh whole family of surya vansha

helpless, laxman went in and gave the news, came hurried out, entertained durbasa and then durbasa left happy.

now as ram had promised kalpurush that anyone who would enter will be given death penalty, he was between devila dn deep sea. laxman came and rescued him. he himself voluntarily chose to give his life away

so one fine morning, after sunrise, laxman went , after proper puja etc, left hsi mortal body for his heavenly abode: you see he did not die, he left hsi bosy, a noble suicide you can say

It cant be termed as suicide. Taking samadhi or burning one self in Yogic fire (not ordinary fire) is a yogic act (in fact highest yogic act). Suicide is a sin in almost every major religion of this world. But when someone takes SAMADHI or burns oneself in Yogic fire(after preforming his worldly duties n obligations) to attain MOKSHA or to merge himself\herself in the PARAMABRAHMA, then its a highest act.

Right, Coolpurvi.
Let me add that if you go somewhere and come back to your home, then it is not suicide. Ordinary people do not know what will happen to them after their death. But Laxman knew well where he was going after the jal-samadhi. The purpose of his incarnation on Earth was over. So, he was going back to home.

Ending life voluntarily without discharging one's duty towards others is suicide. Suicides is always a sin. One shud discharge his duties before taking Samadhi. Ram n his bros did so after discharging their duties.

Ending life voluntarily before discharge of duties is never glorified. For example Maadri (Pandu's second wife) burnt herself alive in her husband's funeral pyre but Kunti (Pandu's first wife decided not perform Sati as she had five young kids (pandavs). Kunti determined to give good upbringing to her kids as it was Pandu's last wish. That is
why Kunti is regarded as greater SATI than Maadri (though she did'nt burnt herself in her husband's pyre)
