Hopefully Zimbabwe take revenge for Pak bean fraud LOL
An extra seamer then for Pakistan today, and it comes at the expense of Asif Ali.
Babar: Would've bowled first. There's swing early, wanted to utilise that. Everyone is ready to go. Asif Ali not playing, Wasim is playing.
Ervine: We'll bat. Wicket's going to play the same throughout. Want to put on a decent score and put them under pressure. We'll have to be (ready to face their pace attack?). Only had one day to get used to these conditions but everyone is feeling good. Chatara out for Evans.
Zimbabwe have won the toss and have opted to bat
Teams:
Pakistan (Playing XI): Mohammad Rizwan(w), Babar Azam(c), Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Haider Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Naseem Shah
Zimbabwe (Playing XI): Regis Chakabva(w), Craig Ervine(c), Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Wesley Madhevere, Milton Shumba, Brad Evans, Ryan Burl, Luke Jongwe, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava
While most of the build-up surrounding the Pakistan team revolved around the impact of the openers and the lack of contributions from the middle order, Iftikhar Ahmed and Shan Masood proved that there is a lot of batting beyond Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. But there was a mini collapse when Pakistan - going steady at 91/2 in the 13th over - slipped to 120/7. It required some lower order runs for Pakistan to finish with a respectable total and they'll be hoping it doesn't come to that. As far as their bowling is concerned, Shaheen Afridi looked a bit rusty coming after a lengthy injury layoff and he'll be eager to make the most of the pace-friendly Perth wicket, as would Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah.
Zimbabwe had a lucky escape in a rain-hit encounter against South Africa as they walked off with a point, although head coach Dave Houghton argued that they had no business even bowling in the second innings in slippery conditions. In a shortened affair of nine overs, Zimbabwe lost early wickets in pursuit of quick runs, which is understandable, but the fact that they have lost 11 wickets across 21 power play overs so far in the competition indicates a clear concern. While a lot will ride on the in-form Sikandar Raza coming good again, Zimbabwe will hope for some more runs from the top order.
On the bowling front, Luke Jongwe and Blessing Muzarabani have had some success against the Pakistan top order in the past and Zimbabwe will be banking on them to do the job.
Semi Finals mein India Pakistan not possible as they both are in the same group.
To kya ab inka koi match nahi hoga?
CRR:
Shaheen Afridi to Madhevere, FOUR, now to the other side of Babar! It's a poor start from Afridi this. Another half-volley outside off, and Madhevere caresses it through extra cover
If that happens, that will be a great match between two equally capable winners.
They can meet again in Finals though if they both reach Finals.
Of course, I wish another excellent innings from Virat , which will turn the match in favour of India. 😃
