Woh scene dekhke pata chalta hai Randhir over acting ka godown hai. 🤣 2 same over acting ki dukano mein genes wahi se aaye hai.

Every time I hear Karishma's name, I immediately think of her dancing with Govinda. Those crappy songs and horrible dance steps.

Since we are talking about this movie, can I just say my fav part of the movie was the guy who played Akshay's dad. He was just hilarious. I forgot his name.

Madhuri because she really has that natural flow in her steps and even hand/arm movements. Karisma did excellent too.

Madhuri looked old, jaded, tired in Pukaar too and she was eaten alive by Prabhudeva in Que sera sera song and looked like trying hard to catch up with his energy.

Madhuri is best in Indian dances and latka jhatka type masala dances. Western dances are not her forte nor she ever had looks or physique for them. Same case with likes of Meenakshi, Jayaprada, Sridevi etc. I clearly feel post 90s actors are better in western dances compared to ones till 80s or early 90s or ones trained in classical dance.

Karishma had leaner physique and her light eyes, face suit western dances more compared to aunty looking MD in DTPH who evidently looked older and tired, jaded and struggling hard to match steps.

DTPH is her weakest film with a weak character and also looking far more mature, older for the childish character she was playing. Kajol or Juhi would have suited that role better then. Madhuri was too old looking for a character as childish and naive or simplistic as Pooja.

I know you are an MD fan so you will defend her. But in this sequence it was all about Karishma and the envy or aggression comes from her. It is all about her. It is supposed to be all about her envy, jealousy towards Madhuri and wanting to overpower her or overshadow her. And Karishma did her job well.

Madhuri is not competing and looks tired soon. Or maybe this is what script demanded of her. She is older than Karishma and older in general by the time she did that film and it did show.

The only time MD outshone other actress in dance together is Badi mushkil song in Lajja where she is with Manisha who neither matched her expressions nor her dancing skills. Otherwise even Ash outshone her in Dola re in Devdas due to her more beautiful face, slimmer and younger frame and partly sad eyes trying to withhold tears and Ash was more agile, quicker in movements compared to overweight, jaded, tired looking MD in that film.

MD began to look aged quite early and the contrast shown in all films post 1996 when she acted with younger actresses or young actors like Saif or Akshay. I daresay she looked like Saif's didi or bhabhi in Aarzoo and not his love interest.

I am not surprised you gave me example of Pukaar in which she acted opposite older Anil Kapoor and not a 90s actor. In Pukaar too she was looking jaded and mature for her otherwise immature, impulsive character. No wonder the film did not do too well at BO.

I don't like Karishma much. Extremely overrated actress. She very much had the tendency to ham. But in this western dance Karishma's movements had more of a finish. But Madhuri was not even half as bad as people are saying. However, had this been a Kahe Ched Ched Mohi or any other type of classical dancing, Madhuri would have eaten Karishma up alive. Classical dancing takes grace. In western dance, except ballet and a few others, aggression and energy work better.

Madhuri was more fast crisp and everything a western dance requires in TAMMA TAMMA when she was of Karishma's age.

I bet no one can do those chair and foot steps among today's girls with such precision and speed. She didn't even needed a body double unlike KATRINA in kamli.

(Sunjay was body doubled by Javed jaafrey in that chair steps)

Madhuri was amazing in que sera sera and had no low energy...prabhudeva has his own style she didn't needed to mimic that but showcased in her own unique style wonderfully

Also in Pukaar's song HAYE JAANA which is very similar to dance of envy she was even more kadak, convincing, aggressive crisp yet precise and still graceful unlike Karishma, that too at the age of mid 30s when she was like 10 years older than what Lolo was in dtph (35 and 25)...(take a look at those videos again with a more neutral mind:)
