From the horse's mouth. He had said this once on his wedding anniversary post on SM.. IIRC he did it again on any of the next 2 anniversaries.

Uhhm, I think it's for the show, a kind of pretense to sell an idea. Definitely he loved her and that's why he married her.

And whatever flings he had on the way, were just, as Neetu says, not from heart😆they were just physical, heat of moment (body😜), he thinks about her only☺️in matters of heart.😊

Jaya is the only one who supported his career when NO ONE else did.

She worked with him when no heroine wanted to work with him. She introduced him to filmmakers and her FTII colleagues. If this man has a career, it is due to his wife's efforts too.

That woman has lost her all and sacrificed a lot for him.

I feel she is an old fashioned woman and tolerates everything he does because she is hopelessly in love with him and became more attached to him as he is father of her kids and she was also close to her in laws.

He never appreciated her though. Once he became a superstar he kept cheating on her and is a bully at home. Read Karan Thapar's account on how Amit shouted at Jaya when he got angry at Thapar's question about Parveen.

Did he ever say why he married Jaya?...oups...forget the question...the thingy with the trip was Amithab and his parents...so, okay, he just married her to make the NEEDED thing...

...and then,,,did he make the trip?

She was more popular than him in the beginning of his career.

His mother (a Sikh woman, sharp minded) was not that interested in Jaya (this is what i heard) , but still marriage happened.

This is actually sad, because this comes across as a very unhappy relationship. I think both parties are unhappy. Amitabh is unhappy, Jaya is resentful.

Idk. I feel like most people back then married for reasons other than love, yes even celebrities and rich people.

@Simi Garewal interview clip: That is ridiculous. Maybe if he had a gf he would be romantic and then when Simi asked if that was the case when she was his GF, she promptly denied and said he hardly spoke.
