In 10-20 years old interviews he had praised her.

Jaya is the only one who supported his career when NO ONE else did.

She worked with him when no heroine wanted to work with him. She introduced him to filmmakers and her FTII colleagues. If this man has a career, it is due to his wife's efforts too.

That woman has lost her all and sacrificed a lot for him.

I feel she is an old fashioned woman and tolerates everything he does because she is hopelessly in love with him and became more attached to him as he is father of her kids and she was also close to her in laws.

He never appreciated her though. Once he became a superstar he kept cheating on her and is a bully at home. Read Karan Thapar's account on how Amit shouted at Jaya when he got angry at Thapar's question about Parveen.

You are right.About Aamir about 8 years back in an interview when he was asked about the women he loved he said that he loves his mother the most,2nd position goes to reena and the 3rd position goes to kiran.so even after marrying kiran he was saying that he loves reena more than kiran.

I am fed up of discussions on Bachchans. No one discusses even Deols, Khanna and Kapadia or others as much as people discuss them.

Not everyone has filmi romantic lives or so called Baghban type lovey dovey couple at even old age.

Most people marry due to social pressure or family compulsions or financial reasons or out of desperation or over caste, religion or class issues or for money or to go abroad or get benefits in career or business or property.

Not everyone is in love like shown in films. So why discuss or nitpick at all? People also fall out of love. Outgrow or get fed up of each other. Aamir sounded so much in love with Reena in 90s when he did interview with Simi. But he divorced her and later also divorced Kiran.

Things happen. Most South Asian couples remain married all life only for social pressure and have fights daily but tolerate it like some submission to fate or karma. Not all are happy. I do not understand psychoanalysis of couples here.

People often do not even get along with their kids and parents and kids have stormy relationship. So what? It happens and there is no idealism.

I think back in the day, people didn't always marry for love and romance. Marriage was just an item on the checklist of things to do in life. People didn't try to find the one they had a spark with. Instead, they tried to find the one who would be acceptable to the family as a good husband/wife and father/mother.

---

Although, romance is not always as essential. Not everyone is romantic. Some people are genuinely awkward and uncomfortable.

I think of Mike Heck in the Middle. He's not very romantic. He forgets anniversaries and birthdays. He gives terrible gifts. But there is something so wholesome and fulfilling about his and Frankie's marriage. Romantic gestures and showering with gifts are the easy part. The hard part is following through and being there when things are not hunky-dory. In Friends, both Ross and Chandler are terrible with women while Joey knows just how to win over the ladies. But Ross and Chandler are better boyfriend material.

Sorry Sarina, but I'll disagree with Ross...he is toxic as hell. I'd take Joey lol. But Chandler is indeed love

Haha. I'd love to discuss that more someday. Actually, I might just create a topic for folks to add more (on a different but related topic that has been on my mind).

Joey may have a big heart, but he's still a womanizing creep. Ross does have some toxicity, but he's a pretty stand-up guy.

We must stop taking a actor movie persona as his real life persona

amitabh may act all proper and prim in TV and movie etc that does not mean hes same at home

even SRK or amir or ranveer singh etc

people behave differently at home with close family differently with colleagues differentlly in front of media

amitabh may be acting nice in front of world to jaya to maintain his family man image but alone or outside may not be nice to her

people assume amitabh the movie guy or KBC guys is same with jaya at home

Same for all actors or even other professionals

The movie was Silsila. Rekha and Amitabh's affair was in full swing. You can actually see real pain in Jaya's eyes.

Amitabh married Jaya when he wanted to take a holiday with her to London. Late Harivansh Rai Bacchan for them married. Jaya was a bigger star than Amitabh. And Amitabh was smitten by her.

Well said. I wonder why people act shocked when they find about real life or behaviour of stars.

They are not ideal.

Waise bhi most people marry in India due to family or social or peer pressure or anyone their family asks them to marry and they tolerate them despite not liking them either.

So called love, romance, emotional connection, compatibility or understanding or empathy or mythical soulmates or two souls becoming one does not exist in real life.

Perhaps this is why movies or shows or novels are popular, which show idealistic relationships as people live vicariously through them and seek escape from reality.
