I think what he’s saying is we don’t see bullies change because we continue to see them as bullies. But what if we genuinely start seeing them as normal people and stop seeing ourselves as victims? What if we start feeling empowered on our own, stop blaming them for our woes and don’t waste any of our mental or emotional energy on them? Do they start changing on their own to fit our line of view then? I don’t know. But what he said resonates with my experience with my narc ex.

That reminds me of the US-thriller "Red Dragon" where exactly this is the only positive thing that happens to the main character:

"At his job in a St. Louis photo lab, Dolarhyde gives Reba McClane, a blind co-worker, a ride to her home and they begin a relationship." (Wikipedia) She just shows him positivity which makes him connect to what has been kept as positive in him.

It is really interesting to read you, adventurousman. I may use other words when I talk about ... what you write makes a lot sense to me.

@ bold: Why not? Depending upon the issues it may take awhile but by practicing letting go, the intensity of whatever bothering us lessens and eventually it can be completely let go. Depends upon ones working and intent. Afterall everything is belief. We just need to work on building our belief and work on our motor reactions.

Autumn, I think it also depends on the wishes you cling to...clinging blocks something in you so that the needed energy can't float if the wish is meant for you to become reality (manifest)...letting go gives way to the intern and cosmic energy to pave the way. It has something to do with trust and faith that the forces that want you good know more of what is best for your personal development/karma.

I was very hopeful after I saw this thread and I already saved a few videos then I saw this comment of yours. I'm in need of some positivity within myself right now but my state of mind is not very positive these days. I don’t know how long it will take to train my mind to get rid of the doubts, insecurities, and negativity for this work but I will give it a go and see how it goes.

Thank you for this thread.

Watch your motor reactions (inner chatter). Motor reactions are those automatic emotions and thoughts you get when you are in certain situations. Those are also your beliefs about those situations. They keep playing in your subconscious continuously and determine the way you feel about those situations/life. If they are negative, it shows lack of faith/belief.


Eg: Boss or Colleague at your office or neighbour is troubling you and every time you think of them, negative thoughts run in your head. Stop those thoughts and think how pleasant and helpful that person is and how glad you are to see them.

Another example: you are afraid of cockroach or dogs and every time you encounter one or think about one, you feel fear in the pit of your stomach. Stop those thoughts and change your state by imagining where you come across them and remain completely calm within.


For every fearful situation be it health issues, exams, doubts of any situation, each time when you think about those events your body reacts with pain, fear or anxiety. Catch hold of those thoughts immediately and change them consciously. Think about positive outcomes for those situations. Smile, bless your body and know that all is well.


Think and react from the desired (outcome) state each time fear and anxiety strikes.

By thinking in your desired state each time, you change your motor reactions as well as beliefs towards those unwanted situations which in turn changes your state of mind.


Negative thoughts, fears and doubts with respect to your desire are the projecting of your consciousness just as much as the positive, life-affirming, faithful confidence and relaxation.

Your automatic motor reactions / inner chatter and beliefs are not going to change on their own. It will take some effort on your part, but it needs to be done consciously by checking your inner chatter and changing them to the desired state. You can also show gratitude as if its done.

Keep choosing new belief to change your life.

It is your inner chatter that are continuously projecting your reality so work on them and align them with the state you desired to be in. Once your thoughts are align, stay tuned because your thoughts are your manifestations. Always think and feel from the desired state as your reality must project your new consciousness.

There can’t be an ulterior motive. If I’m told that if I do good deeds and then I’ll go to heaven or have a good life and keeping that in mind i help someone but actually I’m thinking of myself and how it’ll benefit me. This so called good deed is no longer good.

same applies with letting go. If I’m told by letting go I’ll get this girl then I let go of her or think i did but then am looking for something to happen as i was using this as a technique to get something. In this case that girl but ofc it won’t work.


Letting go is dropping it. If you don’t resist you won’t have to drop it as you’re not clinging to begin with but most of us live in a state of wanting and not wanting.


so I talked to this girl on the train and we connected it felt good now her station has come and she has to go but I want her to stay, I’m wanting something which IS NOT, I’m not flowing with life that’s where I create resistance now because I’ve created it, i can become aware of it and drop it. In this instance wanting her to stay.


it’s seeing what clinging and resistance does and dropping it. It’s seeing that you’re holding on to a burning tea pot and dropping it. You don’t actually decide to drop. Seeing what it’s doing to you it drops by you through you.


What’s happening is all that’s happening. My train ride for eg took 5hrs instead of 2. I reached home at 2am. So I see the train is late an hour and I’m sitting in the station instead on the train. That’s all there’s nothing more to it but I can easily resist this and insist that it shouldn’t happen. Something else should happen (train should be here) instead of what is happening (it’s delayed) by doing this i create friction and resistance.

I can also make a story out of this like this always happens to me and add it to content of ‘me’
Part of my identity like I’m unlucky etc it can go in any direction depending on your conditioning.

so at any given moment see if you’re desiring/wanting something to happen or wanting something not to happen. These are the two movements of the ego. It’s either pushing something away or pulling something towards never resting with what is never fully allowing this moment to be, insisting things to go it’s way

so you’re not letting go of any object per se, you’re letting go/dropping desiring itself. When you see you’re wanting something you drop it.

it can be small like not wanting a conversation to end or something big but in both cases you see what it’s doing to you. The pain you feel is not because you don’t have it. The pain is because you want it. The mind will fool you and convince you if only i had that then my life would be great but you suffer because you’re wanting something which doesn’t exist. Wanting by definition means that you don’t have it.


so if you let go of things to be ‘your way’ and accept each moment as it is then you flow with life and if you see you’re resisting/wanting you drop it that instance.


you can practice letting go but you can’t practice letting go so you can get something out of it that would mean you haven’t let go. You can’t let go of money in order to get money because you’re still doing it to get money so you’re still holding on to the object of your desire in this case it’s money. Your consciousness is still centered around money.


it’s like I’m trying to meditate but when I AM trying to meditate, meditation can not happen because I’m standing in the way. Meditation happens when there’s no meditator. It’s always happening only I come in the way


letting go happens when you stop wanting/resisting

Now you want to let go in order to get something from it then you haven’t let go. You’re still holding on to it. It’s just that you have heard that letting go will get you what you want so you use it to get what you want that’s what i mean by using it as a technique. You can’t fool the existence, universe.


the energy is totally released. You’re not expecting anything to happen. When or if it happens you’ll be genuinely surprised but if you haven’t released it you’ll be looking forward to it from the corner of your eye, it’ll be at the back of your mind. Also the belief that I’ll be fulfilled by having this desire fulfilled is running which brings me back to feeling lack.


does this make sense? It can be complicated but you can’t get out of your mind through mind it’ll be just more mind more thoughts. So you need to become aware and see what is actually happening moment to moment within you then see if you can drop it. See if you can drop each moment. Dying to the past.

Each moment things are coming into being into existence and disappearing. See them appear and disappear without clinging or resisting then you’re actually dropping it and not carrying any baggage. You’ll be light as a feather 🪶 you’re just moving with existence.


I recommend lester levensons sedona method for letting go. He healed himself just by letting go. He was supposed to die in 6 months instead he lived for another 50yrs and manifested all kinds of things
