I just did that...because of this trailer I got to know of the Malayalam movies and binge-watched both parts.

If Ajay's Drishyam2 is again a copy/paste remake, one should only watch the movie after having watched the first one. The second is a genuine sequel...one has to know what happened in the first part and how the characters acted to fully enjoy the surprising story in the sequel.

It is - as a whole - a very good crime drama. I liked Mohanlal as the head of the family - I think, Ajay will play this role with other shades. Tabu as the dead person's mother will certainly be as cruel as Asha Sharath. And I'm happy about Akshaye Khanna playing the new investigator (and the mother's friend) - I liked him very much in Ittefaq (an example how one can be inspired for a remake of another movie).

Ajay did do the first part's remake as well. That was rather good. I'll check out the Malayalam versions with subs. 😃
