Rajamouli and team spending 50 crore for Oscars campaign for RRR

Rajamouli and team are continuing the battle to win an Oscar award for RRR 'at any cost'. They are shelling out US$ 6 Million (close to INR 50 Crore) towards influencers as per an inside source.

On the other hand when we asked why Rajamouli and team is so desperate for an Oscar, an insider said, "Winning an Oscar would impact Rajamouli's career positively and the digital rights of his next film can be sold out at a huge price".

It looks that Oscar Academy may consider the film RRR in one category or the other with this heavy lobbying, say a source.

It is also opined that Oscar Academy may at least give a consolation award or a Special Jury Award if not in the main categories.

Why so desperate for validation from the West? Embarassing.

If it was some smaller filmmaker i could understand cos a nomination would grab eyeballs, but this man isn't small by any means.

RRR did what it had intended to.

It's not about desperation for validation but more about increasing one's foot prints in foreign lands. It's more about increasing opportunities on the global front.

A film nominated in category of Academy awards gets a global recognition because people all over the world gets to know about a movie.It becomes easier for him to make a movie on a larger scale by casting actors from across the world.

Who would ever think that Oscar is given only on merit...I bet, from the days on when this award got a prestige farther than the Hollywood filmindustry, lobbying and splash the cash got more & more important.

Sometimes it really makes me smile how people bash the Hindi filmawards (especially Filmfare) but still hold the Oscars high.
