This moment!!! My heart flies out to both during this scene...it is literally tarapna that they are experiencing.

You really feel the anxiety, the hurt, the vulnerability, the sheer emotional torture that falling in love can make one experience.

Had to add that the softness in Basit's voice during this scene is simply breathtaking...you can literally taste his vulnerability in the texture of his voice here.

You can just tell he wants Ayesha to sit beside him all day and talk to him or more. But banda doesn't know how to get her attention.

You could tell that Ayesha was talking of both Basit and herself when she said those words.

When Basit says, say more, my heart just skipped a beat. He was thinking she spoke about him but she was also telling him about her own pain. Ohhhhhh....these two!!!!

In that scene when she says, every single word he uttered was like he was doing me a favour.....oh lord! The pain, the pent-up hurt and humiliation Ayesha was dealing with all this time since their marriage spilt out. The fact he suspected her of cheating and all that was only the cherry on top. She has been feeling this unloved and uncherished all this time.

I hate the fact that she has made a comeback. I mean we were envisaging her coming back once Ayet were settled into their lives but she’s made an entry when Ayesha is at her weakest. Also Soha represents everything that Ayesha perceives is missing in her to make her more likeable for Basit (not true but these are Ayesha’s insecurities).

Also it didn’t look like Soha was entering the house with the right intentions. Why did Ayesha have to say that she’s nobody to Basit, she could’ve simply called herself his wife. When Soha called herself Basit’s friend, my first reaction was “really?! That’s stretching it far.”

I’m anxious about this angle to the story. Basit himself doesn’t seem clear in what he wants. What role do you think Soha can play now?

You analyse the entry perfectly but what makes you anxious are exactly the things that have me excited about this development. The thing is all this time we have seen Ayesha work on their relationship. She has tried to mould herself into what she thinks Basit wants from his wife, she has tried to offer him support and comfort in whatever ways have come to her head and now she is broken, and hopeless, expecting to hear the end of the marriage from Basit any day now. And this is when Basit needs to up his game. Till now he has only made a few half-hearted and towards the end of last 2 episodes, quite insufficient gestures to show that he wants her in his life. With Ayesha losing her faith in their relationship, Basit will have to find his faith in their marriage, their bond, his love for her and find a way to convince her to believe in him too and give their marriage another shot. With Soha in the picture, this will have Ayesha all ready to leave without putting up any fight. Her words to Soha made that clear. Had there been no Soha, perhaps Ayesha would have returned without Basit having to actually fight for her love, since Ayesha would have accepted that Basit has no one in his life apart from her. With Soha around, she will think he has other people he can turn to for all the things he wants from her. And that will put Basit in the spot where he has to show Ayesha that he wants her and her alone.

So will we get to see Basit fight for Ayesha? Will we get to see him cross all his self-placed limits and boundaries and really show Ayesha that he loves her, that she is special to him, that she is the only woman he wants and needs, and that he is entirely hers, mind, soul, and body?

And as for Soha, I got that feeling too! Particularly the way she was looking around as she entered like she appreciated the signs of wealth on display. Also that thing she said in the promo about how people have to change due to circumstances...if it was a Mexican telenovela I would have said she is probably pregnant and wants to marry Basit so that she won't give birth as an unmarried woman. Since it is a Pak drama, am thinking something has happened in her life that has made her rethink her decision regarding Basit or she had always intended to return to him once her course is over and had thought that he was smitten with her enough to wait all this while for her or have the desire to marry her still in his heart. (Basit did try to convince her that he was in love with her and was over-eager to marry her unlike his approach of total revelation that he tried with Ayesha)

I one hundred percent agree with you. It felt to me as well that Ayesha was talking of both herself and Basit. He just wants to hear her talk all the time. I imagine whatever she says feels reassuring to him. The guy has experienced living without her for a few days and I believe he must have missed her terribly.

Ayesha has been feeling unloved and unappreciated since day one of their marriage. Maybe she feels like whatever he’s been trying to do now is coming from a place of loneliness and not love for her.

In fact, Basit himself acknowledges that he’s not given her enough time. He’s also slowly realising that material pleasures are transitory and cannot replace the warmth of a genuine human relationship.

That is a very nice way of putting forth your views. You have made me feel a little hopeful about the upcoming track.

About Soha, she looked almost awestruck at the display of riches. My friend predicted that maybe her father has undergone financial losses and she’s looking to snag a rich hubby and who better than Basit who gave her the impression of liking her.

I am so excited to witness Basit fight for Ayesha! How do you think he will do that? Maybe they will up the angst and show that the next time Basit calls Ayesha, she’ll ignore him or not take his calls, which will make him long for her even more.

Also Basit needs to first clarify that he doesn’t want a divorce.

Absolutely!!!

Also regarding the realisation regarding material pleasures, I want to expand on that and explore this something which is possibly changing in Basit. The thing is till now as he grew up and was increasingly pressurised into taking a decision on marriage, Basit had been quite firm in his mind and heart that he will never marry. So he had built his life in a certain way around his office routine and his well-run household that was equipped with a capable team of workers. He had been very independent, happy in his own way, satisfied with whatever life had in store for him. The material comfort was a big part of this but also he had built his own comfort zone.

Being forced to marry was never a decision he took willingly or a decision that he was comfortable with. Initially, as we had discussed he was acting as if he could go on like nothing had changed for him with this marriage and that Ayesha was just an added appendage in his life he could almost ignore.

However, marriage is never like that. Firstly there was Ayesha's family, quite a handful and absolutely impossible to ignore. Then there was Ayesha herself. I have said before that Basit was attracted to Ayesha at some level in the very first interview he took of hers because what she said about her decision to apply for the job because of financial troubles spoke right to him. He noticed her at some level though of course he was not attracted to her or anything like that. But that is the very thing. Basit always noticed Ayesha. And this only increased after marriage. How could he ignore someone he cannot fail to notice? And as he noticed her, there was also the attraction which was propelled perhaps by the thought that this was his wife, his person. And as this increased, so did his getting habituated to this new way of living where Ayesha began to take on a more and more important role. From being a confirmed bachelor at heart, Basit began to find comfort in the idea of being married, having a family, having the family being his support system. And because this was essentially a reorientation of his entire way of thinking about life and lifestyle choices, he was so quick to take a decision regarding Ayesha and throwing her out of his life and ending their marriage. Because that was his comfort zone, remaining single, and it is always easier to get back into your comfort zone. But firstly, Fahad very firmly ends his misunderstanding regarding Ayesha and then Ayesha's care during the hospital stay is exactly the dose of comfort and care that makes Basit crave more of it. By the end of the hospital stay he has accepted the fact that he wants this care and when he returns to a house devoid of Ayesha's presence, he is convinced he needs her. But this is his heart speaking still, his head will need some more convincing regarding the degree of his need for Ayesha.

This is becoming a super long post, but I want to add just one final thing. Basit gifting Ayesha the apartment is a gesture of asking for her forgiveness, the grandest gesture he has made till now. The night of their walima when he shouted at her, the very next morning he gave her that envelope of cash. The evening he was rude to her for going through his letters was followed by him giving her another envelope of cash the very next morning. And this time, when he has behaved really badly with her by throwing her out of what he described as his home, he wants to gift her an apartment for herself. All these gestures are forms of Basit Salman apologising. Because he will never apologise in any way that will require him to bend before the other person. The first time he spoke to Qudsia, he began by trying to tell her what had happened at the office, he had begun by saying "galti toh hui hai..." and then just changed it to him asking for Ayesha's hand in marriage. He knew his status would make an offer of marriage from him an extremely eligible one and will remove any need for him to apologise for his actions in the office. So Basit's relationship with and use of the material comforts that are a part of his life is a very important part of his personality. At this point, Ayesha clearly needs more from him and this "more" is of something else, something that cannot be materially quantified. And my hope of course is that Basit will rise to this challenge.

Ooooh...yesss...probably she is in a financial quagmire. Actually I now have a theory on this thanks to your friend! Remember Soha was talking about cryptocurrency and advising her father to invest in it. At that time we took it as a joke and said that this goes to show that Soha is really bad at investments. But what if that is actually the case?? What if she lost a great deal of money, money belonging to her and her father, in cryptocurrency investment? I mean we all know what a crash that was!!! So now, broke and without any hope of recovering that loss, she is here, back in Basit's life, hungry for his wealth!

And Basit I think will visit Ayesha now. He did tell her when she had come that he would have gone to her had she not come to him. And with Ayesha leaving like that, with her clearly misunderstanding him, he will be eager to find a way to talk to her and resolve the misunderstandings, making his position clear. But I still feel that even when Ayesha returns she will still not be wholly convinced that Basit has brought her back because he loves her. And for that realisation to happen, the Soha factor will be important.
