I have always praised Abhishek for being mentally strong. The pressure and comparisons to parents, grandparents, wife can get to anyone.
In real life, no man or in laws are able to handle more successful or famous wife/DIL. Even educated ones get insecure.
Waise I do agree, success or failure are too exaggerated and we all face pressure or feel like losers or inadequate and lacking in life due to all comparisons and so called milestones or material success, power, name, fame, awards etc and hate own life or get frustrated or commit suicide due to not achieving such things.
Success has to be defined by oneself. Like I think Anu Aggarwal managed to pull herself out of drugs and trauma of her accident and became a spiritual guru and yoga expert so she is a success in her own right even though film media may call her a one film wonder.
Your post is thoughtful and makes me wonder how much media has brainwashed us with all rankings and power lists and awards or medals by a certain age that we are told to earn since childhood. And how we define even films by whether it made money or not.
Indeed these definitions are shit.
I think we call out AB jr for getting too many chances due to nepotism and undeserved favours like highest youth award from UP govt due to his surname. Not because he flopped or because he lacks aura or charisma of his dad.
Otherwise his flops do not make him a bad person.
I have always admired his manners and his ability to accept pressure due to his family without crumbling under it.
