What happened to Sa Re Ga Ma in the season after Shreya Ghoshal? I don't remember that, but it must have been so difficult for those contestants to make a mark for themselves. Are we witnessing something similar? Are we still biased by our likes, or rather love, for our Idol 12 favourites that we are just not able to feel the connect with this season's contestants?

Does not work like that I feel for those who choose to listen. Singers strike chords with listeners. If someone is able to do that then he/she will develop strong following. The striking a chord thing is not just singing (in Reality shows) - it is a package. People get attached to this package.
In this season, for example, I like Rishi's singing but am unable to get attached to the package. He does not have the presence, or the walk, or the magnetism that would make me wait for his song to be telecast. So, while he may be a good singer he may not get the sport of attention from me that he deserves. Same with some others. I may pay equal attention to someone else who may not be as good a talent but who captures the stage, and my attention.
That is my take on Reality Show stardom. And because of that i feel we will have a weak Season. Others may have a difference of opinion.

I can agree with that.
